  1. King Felix is from other planet.
  2. I'm just pointing out facts. Both offense and pitching have sucked. On the bright side, I think that our offense will awake. Porcello, Kelly and Masterson suck and will suck as starters. Kelly and Masterson could fit well at BP. Miley and Buch could be oks but I need to see more specially from Miley. The new two kids on the block at pitching could surprise everyone but still to be seen. Let's see if we trade a solid pitcher. In the end hopefully this could be enough to grab a PO slot, otherwise I see some heads rolling by the en of the season.
  3. Also, just in May the Sox are 24th in ERA in all baseball. Pitching has been a problem as well.
  4. Both have been the problem. 9 of the last 25 games this team has allowed 5+ Rs.
  5. Kelly could be very good at pen. Nothing more. On the other hand Craig could have another shot. If he shits the bed again he has to go.
  6. Thing is that we could be out of the race by the time, so it could be too late, reason why I insist, I do not like that strategy.
  7. Well, there's no need to talk more about Porcello. He sucks, plain and simple. Milley on the other hand has had 4 solid starts in his last 5 games which is pretty encouraging. If the new 2 kids on the block perform decently, and Buch and Miley can stay this good, we will have some chances to emerge IF our offense awakes.
  8. Everybody is making him contact, It's been like batting practice. This contract will be another nightmare.
  9. 6/10 of his starts have been horrendous. He is killing this team. BTW.. just another HR. wow!
  10. LOL!... yeah! I feel better now.
  11. Hopefully we win despite him.
  12. Well, this is Rick f***ing Porcello ladies and gentlemen, but wait... he is young. Whata way to waste money... again.
  13. LOL! A couple of weeks ago I said that I needed to see a couple of more starts from him; at the time he still seemed mediocre but kind of improving. These days he looks much better. Hopefully he keeps this way. While they have had some nice outgoings in May, I'm not ready to call it good pitching, not yet. Masterson is done. Kelly sucks. Porcello is a sea of inconsistencies. Miley is still a ? to me. Now my concern is not only our pitching but our offense. They just forgot how to hit. We need to take advantage from those nice starts because going forward IMO won't be too much of them.
  14. Clay Buchholz has the best strikeout and swinging-strike rate of his career! Clay Buchholz has a new changeup grip! Therefore his strikeout rate must be because of his new changeup? Maybe, but it’s not a linear thing. Nothing in baseball ever is. Here's the whole story. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/a-new-changeup-for-clay-buchholz/
  15. Yup. They want to win now and almost every year. Thing is that they just do not know how to assemble a team, specially a pitching staff.
  16. Yup, it's not a bad luck thing. It's not about optimism or pesimism either. The talent at pitching is not there. It's pretty simple actually. Our FO took a very serious risk with this staff and furthermore, they recently threw a lot of money to a mediocre arm just because he is young or whatever the assessment is behind. Honestly, I do not see any team in a rush trying to throw 80 M to Porcello these days. Let's see how this ends up, but if we do not make the playoffs again, IMO we need to change the philosophy/strategy and the men behind it for once and for all.
  17. Wonder what is the core pitching staff that our FO has been building (since Theo left) like TB, As, STL, etc have built. Porcello? Miley?... Really? We are two light years from those organizations in terms of running a team. Wonder what would happen if teams like OAK, TB, KCR, HOU, etc had the budget that the Red Sox have every year...
  18. Putting a GM who can build a pitching staff?
  19. Creamed like the current staff, doubt it. Also, whining is your speciality, not his.
  20. So? I'm addressing the strategy. Where did you leave your reading comp skills and common sense? Stop whinning!
  21. Talking about hypocrites, didn't you want Lester and Shields as well?. Also, just as Papelbon those contracts will be fine, it is not like betting in a guy like Lee as you suggested.
  22. Do not take me wrong, I like Porcello at the right role (No. 3-4) and price, but trying to put him at the No. 1 slot which he has never been/performed (No. 1) and at that price (80 M) just because he is young, is plain stupid. This is just an example and a point of start of why I think this team was horrible assembled.
  23. If Lester provides No. 3 numbers by the end of his contract I will call it deal, which is likely IMO.
  24. I do not like that approach/strategy -- leaving all the job to the offense and let the pitching to be mediocre. I like balance, like STL. As I said, this team was horrible assembled.
