  1. While the Yankees, Astros and even the Dodgers fought, The Sox were way superior. Not even close.
  2. Offseason hasn't ended. I agree that DD has to throw the house through the window (or whatever you say it in english LOL!) but I'm confident he has all figured out.
  3. Well, last year people said that the Yankees were going to win the division as well and see how it ended up. We are practically the same team. Yeah, We lost Kimbrel and Kelly but I won't miss them at all. IMO Kimbrel is going to enter into a inevitable decline process and Kelly sucked most part of the season. Also, they cost a lot of money. Said that, if the Sox stay relatively healthy, and add a BP arm and/or someone become a solid closer & set-up arm, my money will be with the Sox again. If healthy, the Sox still have the best offense and rotation of the game. Not even close. The only concern is the pen which could go by committee if they don't add another arm.
  4. Sorry to hear that S5D. Actually I tried to buy at mlbshop.com in the first place because I thought that it should be safe and the service should be oks. A year ago I bought some jerseys at a web page which after a while I found out that was chinese as well —not sure if it is the same you are presenting, but the name sounds familiar. My order arrived but it took like 3 months. The reason? They send their stuff via the postal service and not a carrier like dhl, fedex, etc. Said that, IMO you still have chances to recive your stuff S5D. Good luck my friend.
  5. I placed an order like 2 months ago at mlbshop.com and it hasn't arrived yet. Their service is terrible. One day you speak with someone and tell you one thing and another they say you a completely different thing. Yes, the official web place of the MLB to buy things on internet. One day, they told me that my order was already shipped. After a while, since my order didn't arrive, I called them back again to track it, and they told me that they don't send to Mexico, and I said, WTF? (they told me that it was already shipped) and they told that my money was going to be refunded, and I said, it sucks but it's oks. A week after that, I noticed that my money wasn't refunded yet, so I called them back again, and they told me that it was going to arrive on December 20th which hasn't happened, of course, once again, I said wtf? (They told me that they don't send to Mexico) but I didn't have a choice but to wait. After that, I called them back again, and they told me that my shipment was going to arrive soon, so I asked for the tracking number and carrier, but they told me that they don't have/share that information, once again I said WTF? It must be joke! so I told them, you send a lot of things and don't have a way to track them? really? who the f*** runs this place? Today, they haven't refunded my money and my shipment hasn't arrived. It is literally in the limbo. Nobody there knows a goddamn thing about my order. Becareful, I just noticed that Mlbshop.com runs with the same platform of fanatics.com It's unbelievable that the official web page of the MLB that sell things works this way. A complete joke in my experience.
  6. Thanks Elk for your advise and recommendations, I'm taking notes. Regarding the tickets for the games at Jet Blue Park S5DEWEY is helping me to get them, and I think I'm going to buy the tickets for the away games via StubHub. Said that, hopefully we can meet there at least to say hello my friend.
  7. There's still a lot of talent there to just waste it. You don't know when you are going to be in this position again. Said that they will spend and will go with all cylinders and engines at full capacity to try to win it all again.
  8. Well, the Spring training is around the corner, and I want to announce that I'm officially attending to some games from March 13th to March 18th. I'm planning to go the DET, NY, ATL and TB games. I haven't been there and I have understood that it is an awesome experience. Also I have understood that some posters like A700 and others every year go, so if someone is attending these dates and games I'll be there and we may meet and share some time talking about baseball & the Sox while drinking a couple of beers. Said that, I want to prepare my trip, so aside the games, I will appreciate if you guys recommend me some things to go and do in Ft. Myers, like bars, restaurants, dinning, etc. I haven't bought the tickets for the games, so firstable, which seats do you recommend to buy? I'm going alone and probably with another friend but it's not sure. I'd rather a seat where the sun doesn't hit. I was planning to buy a seat at the green monster at Jet blue Park but probably the sun hits a lot there. I have no idea regarding the other 2 stadiums vs DET and NY. Two games will be at Jet blue park vs ATL and TB, other at Public Field at Joker Marchant St. vs DET and the other at GS field park vs NY —Wonder whether these parks are close to Ft. Myers. Once again thanks in advance for your recommendations and advise, and hopefully see some of you there.
  9. It’s plain crazy. An average top ten Ivy League graduate bearly make in his life 3-4 M. That’s a season salary for a lot of bad mlb players.
  10. Good vibes to you moon. Everything is going to be alright, you’ll see.
  11. I bet Harper and specially Machado don't even know what a 400 M figure is or mean LOL! I understand that the market is what it is but this is getting ridiculous.
  12. I have understood that they only measure their regular season performance.
  13. I don't like Allen. I'd rather Miller or Kelly.
  14. I'd do it in a heartbeat. IMO Eovaldi is in Porcello's quality tier if not better. Eovaldi is what, 28? If he commands 15 MX4, sign him already.
  15. Definitely. Kelly's problem is in his head. The stuff is there. Cora definitely will help here, in fact, I'm certain that Cora had a lot to do with Kelly's PO magnificent performance. Geez, Kelly has a FB that can post 100 mph with a lot of movement combined with a solid curve ball and change up. You don't find this in trees.
  16. IMO resigning Eovaldi is the key to be successful next year. A rotation with Sale, Price, Porcello, Eovaldi and E-Rod arguably could be the best in baseball next year, of course if they stay relatively healthy.
  17. While Kimbrel was a stud, his declining is around the corner. We already benefited of his prime, IMO it's the right time to let him walk. If we resign Kelly, he could be in the mix with Barnes and Braiser to take the job.
  18. It could go the other way too. Ex. The Sox should have won game 3 of the WS. In the end the best team won, and it was not even close.
  19. It probably speaks volumes how weak Atlanta’s divisions were those days.
  20. I think there’s not out there a better team than this 2018 Red Sox in baseball history. This team won 108 games and literally destroyed 2 100+W teams, and was way superior than its rival in the WS. Arguably the path to win the WS this 2018 was the toughest in PO history on paper. Also, in POs their dominance on the road was without precedents, I could bet. They won 11 and only lost 3 games in POS against heavy weight caliber teams.
  21. Alex Cora is the perfect combination of an old school baseball manager and a sabermetrician geek. His philosophy also covers those intangibles like human factors, locker room chemistry, player convincing & motivation, delegation, etc. which are fundamental to run a baseball team. We are in good hands with him and DD.
  22. I've been here for a while, and to me talksox has become part of my daily basis activities LOL! Forum has had ups and downs but always well monitored and moderated mainly by youk and recently by JB44 who was a huge addition for the board as a mod. Sometimes I can't post as much as I would like but I'm always alert.
  23. Actually the original idea was to go to Boston with a friend but it got complicated since his job, so I decided to go to LA just like that once they won the second game of the series LOL! I was very confident that we were going to clinch the world series in their park, so I said, it could take another 3, 5, 10 years or so to see them win another WS and in person, so I couldn't miss the opportunity LOL!. As you said, once in a lifetime experience.
  24. I was at Dodger Stadium in game 3 and that error by Kinsler in the 13th inning was something you can't put in words —beyond frustrating; mentally and physically I was done LOL!. We spent 9-10 hours at Dodger Stadium, considering that we arrived like 2-3 hours earlier, not to mention we had to walk like 3 miles or something to get there and another 3 miles to get back to the airbnb place we were staying since the uber service just collapsed in the zone considering the demand, plain crazy. We finished devastated that day, I literaly couldn't feel my legs LOL! When Kinsler blew it up with that throw, after 5-6 hours there, my wife looked at me with anger because she wanted to leave mostly because that day was her birthday and we planned to go dinning after the game, plus we went with my 2 YO little boy and the weather didn't help –it was little cold and windy for us. In the end we stayed there all the game and while it was really frustrating it was a great experience.
  25. Bingo! I think this is right. Red Sox are set to win again in 2019. I think they will resign Pearce and Eovaldi. They will see what Kelly is going to ask and let Kimbrel walk. This team will be a serious contender again.
