  1. Though not as crazy as making Brian Roberts an every day starter.

  3. I'll have you know that I've loathed that annoying little s*** for quite some time now.
  4. So, who becomes our most hated Yankee now? Arod excluded. My money is on McCann.
  5. Cue the insufferable retirement tour. Glad he's finally f***ing off though. I'll miss his awful fielding, however.
  6. I'll be honest and say I like the navy blue road alternates. I've got a Koji one myself.
  7. I don't know whether to commend you two for setting aside your differences or be really upset that I no longer get to observe you go at each other all the time.
  8. No. Jeter. It's irrational and juvenile, I know, but it still irks me anyway.
  9. The red ones are almost as bad as the st Patrick's day greens. I'd like it if we just went back to the pre '09 road jerseys with the red lining on the sleeves and pants.
  10. Not gonna lie, Xander wearing 2 kind of annoys me but whatever.
  11. A specific one that comes to mind for me is a 2006 home game against Cleveland. David Wells went against, I think, Paul Byrd and the game was a slugfest that knocked both pitchers out early. With the score 8-6, Kyle Snyder came in and pitched something like 5 innings of no-hit relief. We go into the bottom of the 9th with the score the same and Fausto Carmona coming in to pitch. I remember, pretty much to a T how the inning transpired, keep in mind, being like 11-12 years old, I was chanting "Let's go Red Sox" at the TV the whole time: Alex Cora lines a single to left field Youk walks on a pitch that almost hits him in the head Loretta pops out to short Then Ortiz came up and worked the count to 2-0 and I thought "here comes a fastball". Carmona throws one on the lower outside corner and Papi cranks it out to straightaway center and I proceed to lose my s***. Nothing too spectacular relative to the other stuff in this thread but a favorite of mine nonetheless.
  12. Glad they went back to the red lettering. I wasn't too pleased when we went to the blue "Boston" on the road jersey in 2009. Now if they can ditch the red alternates for '75 throwbacks, it'll be perfect.
  13. I've said it before but allow me to reiterate just how sad what happened to Grady Sizemore is. He was shaping to be one of the biggest stars in the game before he started getting hurt. I really hope he can stay relatively healthy this year, for his own sake just as much as the Sox.
  14. Jacque Jones even got a vote.
  15. Only 3 players and no Biggio. Lame. No problem with the three who made it though. All deserving. A little late but personally: 1. Bonds 2. Clemens 3. McGwire 4. Schilling 5. Maddux 6. Glavine 7. Thomas 8. Piazza 9. Bagwell 10. Biggio It's also a crime that Trammel and Raines aren't in yet.
  16. I have this amusing image in my head of Henry giving WMB a high five and asking what the sex is like.
  17. Maybe. If he can refrain from shooting himself.
  18. I get wanting to wait and see what Lester we have in 2014 but I also think that he's actually a pretty safe bet moving forward. He's a lock to give you around 30 starts a year and 200+ innings and he's never had any serious ailments and most reports are that he has really good mechanics so I don't see anything that is suggesting serious issues in the future. On top of that, aside from 2012, he's been reliable for an ERA in the 3's with the one outlier, 2012, coming in season where the whole team was in turmoil and we had a coaching staff that couldn't be bothered to give a s*** about the players.
  19. I remember feeling really smart in 2007 when Pedey blew to start the year and I was patient, knowing he'd get it together.
  20. Agreed, but I'd still feel a lot better if Xander and JBJ would ditch that *******. I'd love to lock them both up early if they prove they're worth it.
  21. I agree. I don't fault Jacoby at all for taking the money, I fault the f***ing Yankees for offering it. Douchebags. Jacoby isn't the same as Benedict Damon. Damon said he could never see himself playing for the Yankees despite them offering top dollar. He lied. Ells never made any such statements and it was made clear that he wanted to test the market so I don't blame him for taking the money.
  22. Victorino to start, JBJ if he proves he can hit ML pitching.
  23. Paying a guy who was replaced by Franklin morales to do anything on a baseball team other than take up space on the bench strikes me as a really bad idea.
  24. Right. I don't think WMB is ever going to be a guy who walks all that much but if he can adjust his approach to the point where's he is K'ing less and swinging at better pitches to hit, he might be able to hit .280-90 which would allow him to put up at least average OBP numbers.
  25. Yeah, I wouldn't have a problem paying 5/100 for Ells if that's what it would've taken. I would've been fine with 20 AAV for 5 years or something like 6/110-ish. But the Yankees gave him absurd superstar money when he isn't a super star. Ellsbury is not the kind of guy you pay over 20 million a year for potentially 8 years.
