  1. No, that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that that crap is coming out because he's playing poorly. If he was hitting well, nobody would mention it. But once he starts to suck, everything comes out. People don't hate him because he's JD's brother. They hate him because he's hitting like garbage right now, and they're getting on to him about everything because of it. Plus, my biggest point is that the people who react as your saying are in the minority. The whole '10% of the population making 90% of the comments' thing.
  2. STOP STRIKING OUT!!!! Holy crap, Napoli. Cut down your freaking swing for ONE TIME in your life.
  3. Bauer lost a lot of velocity from his UCLA days, which is why a lot of people don't think he'll pan out to that top of the rotation guy he looked to be.
  4. Come on Aceves. 3 quick outs pls. I have a rules question. If you're playing a doubleheader, and there is a big rain delay, can you call the first game as an official game after 5 innings, and start the 2nd game, or does the first game have to be completed in its entirety prior to starting the 2nd game?
  5. You do realize that RDLR is one of the guys they're debating on to make the start in Buch's place on Saturday, no? His problem is that he's coming off of TJS and his command isn't quite there yet. You're getting a good idea of what you could get from him right now in Archer. As for Britton, why exactly are you giving up on him? He's got a 3.08 ERA in Portland this year. and in his last 5 starts encompassing 32 IP, he's allowed 2 ER. That's a 0.56 ERA.
  6. seems like this team has been snake bitten with RISP lately.
  7. Particularly with Webster, De La Rosa, Britton, and Ranaudo all having big years. Britton and Ranaudo will probably be up in Pawtucket very soon. Gotta think guys like Terry Doyle, Aceves, and Steven Wright aren't exactly "blocking" these guys.
  8. Goodness that's about as bad as it gets right there.
  9. I'll be shocked if Salty - Middlebrooks - Drew go K-K-K. #wontbeshocked
  10. Aceves threw 25 pitches that inning. 8 strikes.
  11. Lucky as crap. What a piece of crap.
  12. Aceves looks disgusting today. 12 strikes, 16 balls. Seriously??
  13. *Off topic post warning* Someone want to make a new game thread? Game starts in 30 min. And I've started like 20 this year.
  14. Scherzer in the 3 way deal with ARI, DET, and NYY. Yankees Receive: Granderson Tigers Receive: Scherzer, A. Jackson, Daniel Schlereth, Phil Coke D’Backs Receive: E. Jackson, Kennedy (Tigers got a steal in that package). Fister: Trade with Mariners (acquired David Pauley as well), traded Francisco Martinez, Casper Wells, Charlie Furbush, and Chance Ruffin Sanchez: Traded with Omar Infante to Detroit for Jacob Turner (BA #22 prospect), Rob Brantly, and Brian Flynn.
  15. Yup. For anyone coming off TJS, really, it's really the 2nd year that the command returns.
  16. I don't think this is necessarily true. Drew is hitting .215 with a .679 OPS right now. Yeah he missed ST, and had a really nice streak of 18 games where he hit .317 with a .969 OPS. But from May 16 - June 16, he hit .186/.273/.330, and he's struck out 32 times in 97 AB (33% of his AB). When you've already got Salty, Napoli, and Middlebrooks who K at a high rate, adding Drew to that list only exacerbates the problem. If Drew was hitting well, people would be ok with him. But he really struggled out of the gate, which is fine, he had no ST, and he went on a little tear there. But now, for the past month, he's been atrocious at the plate. The hate for Drew is more of a product of his terrible performance recently than his bloodline.
  17. De La Rosa tough to figure out tonight, walked the stadium. 5.1 IP, 5 K, 5 BB, 2 H, 0 R. He's going to have to figure out those walks
  18. Right. I think I'd rather have Lester + Victorino than, for example, Lohse and Myers.
  19. No, but that rule goes away if someone (Buch) hits the DL, so he'd be able to be recalled at that point.
  20. Sox are going to have to have a spot starter on Saturday for Buchholz's slot, and from all the reports that I've read, it's between De La Rosa and Webster. Red Sox vs Tigers, Fox Saturday Night game. Big game to get your feet wet for either pitcher. I gotta think they're going to give RDLR the start over Webster. RDLR is pitching today, which lines him up perfectly for the start on Saturday, and he's been extremely good in his past 8 starts (1.14 ERA). Exciting to think about him or Webster coming up.
  21. We wouldn't have anywhere to put Myers at this point. With Nava, Ells, and Vic, we have a pretty solid OF right now. I think if we had made that trade, we would not be close to 13 games over .500 right now to be honest.
