  1. I think we're all forgetting just how good RDLR actually is. This is a guy who was the centerpiece of the Dodgers trade, and a guy who Keith Law told Alex Speier after the trade was an ace, at worst a #2. He's on an innings limit this year but next year he could be a huge piece of the rotation.
  2. Based on their interest not 6 months ago? I mean, if they were willing to go after him hard this offseason, what has changed? Outside of the fact that the club is probably even better than they thought it would be. Lee would only help matters, obviously. It's not like this is a guy they've never showed interest in. They've had interest in him for a long time, going back to his Guardians days when the a tribe wanted Buchholz for him straight up and the Sox said no
  3. No way on Gallardo. If we can't get a top of the rotation pitcher like a Lee (or someone else of his caliber), then we just need to stand pat and use the farm for a couple arms. Never know, by mid August, Ranaudo, Britton, Webster, Workman, and De La Rosa all have the potential to provide spot starts and be just as good as a guy like Gallardo, Garza, Marcum, etc.
  4. If he does move, the Red Sox will be all over him. It's not a question about whether the Sox would go after him. It's whether or not he's available.
  5. Outside of guys like Garza and Nolasco, there aren't many people who are out there who are more than 90% to be available. But high salary players on a team that was putrid last year and bad this year are generally players who get dealt. Lee fits that mold
  6. Garcia is one of those incredibly frustrating pitchers that always shuts us down for no damn reason at all. Hope today is different. Need to split this series
  7. You don't know for certain that anyone will be available. If we're not going to discuss potential options until they are 100% on the block, this thread doesn't exist
  8. Merloni just said he thinks Bogaerts is going to be your everyday 3B in 2-3 weeks if Middlebrooks keeps this up
  9. There are very very few players who I deem untouchable. Bogaerts is just that. Even for a guy like Stanton, I don't think I could part ways with him. If Bogaerts was a corner outfielder, I'd be much more apt to trading him. But a potential 35 HR bat at SS?? That's so incredibly valuable.
  10. That left fielder was all like 'uhhh. No.'
  11. Middlebrooks was a complete disaster
  12. 3 for their last 49 collectively. Gag me
  13. This offense is abysmal
  14. Middlebrooks does not belong in the MLB.
  15. This makes me want to vomit
  16. David Ross has been well beyond useless since his DL stint. He's been so, so bad
  17. Middlebrooks hasn't squared up a ball since the first Jays series
  18. Bogaerts just hit his first AAA HR.
  19. Bogaerts went deep in the 2nd game of the DH
  20. This offense is pathetic tonight.
  21. We very much disagree on the quality of his stuff
  22. Holy crap, Sox sign Denney for 875K!!
  23. Ross and Middlebrooks are looking so overmatched by mediocre pitching its embarrassing.
  24. How the hell do you get sawed off on a 3-1 count?!? That's ridiculous man.
  25. Tonight, Dempster finds his fastball command and returns to form
