  1. I would trade Bogaerts for Price in a heartbeat.
  2. Man this team is resilient.
  3. Sox don't deserve to win this game, not at all.
  4. Bunt by Nava scores a run there. That's just disgusting managing. The Nava magic appears to be coming to an end. Which is fine, Bradley is probably ready.
  5. It bothers me that a struggling Nava didnt bunt there. That's awful.
  6. Love all these K's with RISP!!!! Just awful.
  7. Iglesias is just silly at SS. He's so smooth it's ridiculous.
  8. Come on man. Freaking push a run across this is ridiculous
  9. Well that was a freaking joke
  10. Really think Lester is about to go on a big run here.
  11. You're right - Sox probably need to go WMB and Ranaudo for Trumbo. Would address both teams needs
  12. Yeah his post really confused me. As for the Angels, they need a 3B badly. I think it's a deal that would work out for both teams. Perhaps the Sox would need to sweeten the deal a bit by going with WMB + Ranaudo (maybe Britton if they can get away with that), but that would give the Sox a much needed long term power bat at 1B. And while I love the SP depth the Sox have, you have to use some of it to address other needs.
  13. Will Middlebrooks + Bryce Brentz for Mark Trumbo. Who hangs up first?
  14. The Sox would be wise to stick RDLR in the bullpen and see what they have with him before the deadline. He's been nothing short of outstanding in AAA and could give the pen a huge boost. Uehara is doing fine closing IMO. He has given up 1 run, which is nothing. I know it blew the save but I still feel very comfortable w him closing. If we can stick Taz, RDLR, Miller, and Breslow behind him, we could be in good shape. I think the Sox can find what they need in terms of the pen internally myself, plus I despise trading for relievers.
  15. Don't sleep on the Jays!!!
  16. I'm not sure the Red Sox don't exercise Lesters club option and then trade him, particularly if they can get Lee at the deadline.
  17. So, who do you have playing SS? Nap is a FA, so need a 1B too. And Salty is a FA after this year, who do you have catching? What about LF? There is a very good chance that the Sox can have Lavarnway catching, WMB at 1B, Bogaerts at 3B, Iglesias at SS, Nava in LF, Bradley in CF, Webster, Doubront, Tazawa, Wilson, and RDLR all in the rotation or bullpen. That's a huge amount of the team made up of home grown talent, most of them recently home grown.
  18. The Sox system is the strongest it's been in years. You don't think Webster, RDLR, Bradley, Bogaerts, Brentz, or Ranaudo will be able to play a full time role next season?? I would be willing to bet that Bradley, RDLR, Bogaerts, and potentially Webster all start next season with Boston, with the rest of them coming up throughout the year.
  19. Anyone else notice that Salty has a new stance from the right side?
  20. Pettitte is no longer a good pitcher.
  21. Feldman will get whacked in the AL East IMO. Though I said the same thing about Dempster and he's been pretty good.
  22. The hope is that they can roll with a 3 man rotation through the divisional playoffs. But I absolutely agree. I think they need 1 more guy. Lester just isn't good enough anymore. And to be honest, I don't feel entirely comfortable pinning my 2nd game on a guy fresh off TJS. For what it's worth, I am all for getting Cliff Lee. I think Webster, Cecchini, and Brentz would get it done, and likely taking on a substantial portion of the salary (perhaps getting 8-10mm back over 3 years).
  23. True Story. Amazin Avenue (a Mets website) had a post talking about the return they could get for Bobby Parnell. They said they could get Bogaerts or JBJ from the Sox. Wut.
  24. De La Rosa with another 5 shutout innings. Now has allowed 4 ER in last 48 IP. 5 K's tonight, no walks. ERA now down to 2.30.
