  1. Literally the only player in all of baseball that I would give up Bogaerts to acquire.
  2. Can Reddick look like any more of a complete slob?
  3. I swear, off the bat, I give up on so many foul balls here that end up being caught in foul territory. It's enormous.
  4. Need pitching in a much, much worse way than we need offense.
  5. Yeh. Played 51 of first 81 games last year, 63 of first 81 this year. But regardless, that's a crazy improvement.
  6. This time last year, Salty had 5 HR. He's now got 16. Pretty big leap.
  7. Pumpsie this is ridiculous. That collision was a freak accident, and was neither players fault. You want these players to avoid collisions, but then when they do peel off, you would be screaming in the game threads about how they're pathetic players for not going all out.
  8. Career ERA in Post Season Play: Lester: 2.57 Beckett: 3.07 Buchholz: 1 game, 5 IP, 2 ER I'm just saying. It's not like we're rolling out a bunch of no names with zero PS experience out there. Plus, it's not ALL about the SP. If we're going up against the Rays, I like Beckett's chances to shut down the Rays more than Price/Shields chances of shutting down a healthy Red Sox team. The 1 game PS is a crapshoot.
  9. Did you just really cite Matt Harrison, COLBY LEWIS (?!?!?!?!) and Yu Darvish in the same breath as Verlander and Weaver?!? Pumpsie. Get a grip. If the Sox face one of those 3 in the 1st round, I love my chances. Do you not remember just a month ago when Bard beat Verlander?? The Red Sox have always owned the Angels in the PS, and Jered Weaver has a career 4.41 ERA vs BOS. Nothing is a guarantee.
  10. Tough loss last night. I actually hit the sack after the 3rd inning, hoping to wake up to better news. No such luck. Looks like this offense is as impotent as ever. But, it's Lester vs Colon tonight, and likely Cook vs Griffin tomorrow. I like our chances in those two match ups. The Yanks lost and the O's lost yesterday, so we didn't lose any ground. Still 0.5 back in the WC, 6.5 back in the East. Gather your pride, pick yourself up, and go out and win the next two. You can't continue to sit back and watch the Yankees and Orioles lose, and not pick up ground when you're playing the Mariners and A's.
  11. Not helping that this umpire is squeezing the ever living s*** out of Mortensen.
  12. I would bet you right now that DiceK does not give up more than 2 runs tonight.
  13. Nothing pisses me off more than when NESN just randomly skips pitches because of a tour of a clubhouse or because they can't get back from the commercial break fast enough.
  14. Likely not. But at this point, who really cares about final numbers? If he just puts up a 2nd half of the season like the 1st half numbers he had last year (.354/.414/.591, 17 HR, 77 RBI), I think we'd all be thrilled. Not with his overall numbers, but with his 2nd half. He just needs to put this 1st half behind him, and play like he can for the 2nd half.
  15. Wow. Really felt like we should have scored 2-3 there.
  16. Come on Gonzo. Get locked in, please??
  17. If I was a betting man, I'd say he plays Wednesday, takes the off day Thursday, plays Friday and Saturday (night), and Sunday. Then takes a week off and is 100% on Friday in TB.
  18. Mark "Don't call me Buckner" Teixiera huh?
  19. I'd rather have WMB here for 2 of the 4 games against the Yanks (1 of the DH on Saturday, then the Sunday night game) than to have someone like Andy LaRoche for a couple games against the A's. Sit him, give him the week off, he'll likely be back by Friday.
  20. I don't think people are trying to usher him out because he's made of glass. I think people understand we aren't going to be able to drop 8/160mm on multiple players, so if we're going to spend that money, we should spend it on a guy like Cole Hamels instead of a guy like Ellsbury, especially since we've got young OF (Kalish, Bradley, potentially even Bogaerts) who can come up and take his spot. Not 30/30, .320 production, but this team doesn't need to be a gluten of offense. They need to be more balanced, which means getting an ace.
  21. He should wear more underarmor. Get it? Clever. I know.
