  1. the radio announcers just said that kalish ran to the wall, leaped up and the ball landed in the stands. they forgot to mention that it happened in foul terroritory phew
  2. we're dead last in the majors in stolen bases this year. not a single member of our team has more than 8 stolen bases ellsbury and kalish should help with that. kalish was 25-3 in stolen base attempts this year in the minors
  3. there ya go ells. gotta love when he can add this kind of dynamic to the offense
  4. this is the fastest i can remember ellsbury looking. his work to improve his defense in center will most likely improve his stolen base ability as well
  5. that's one way for ells to get on base...
  6. nice quick inning by lester. he should be good for 7 with bard and papelbon rested
  7. we haven't really grinded out an opposing pitcher in a while. lately, it seems like we have one or two innings where we threaten and we go down pretty easily in the other innings. it hurts not to have youkilis or pedroia in the lineup
  8. i think there are plenty of rebuilding teams that might consider doubront, kalish, bowden tazawa or even lars for a starting job next year. i would like to keep doubront and kalish around if possible though, it all depends on what kind of a player we're talking about acquiring
  9. usually he's much better than this. i just don't think he's got his timing down yet
  10. ells is way too anxious. he's jumping out at every pitch. he needs to relax, let the ball come to him and take some pitches
  11. there's a lot of guys we could use as a trade chip that wouldn't involve weakening our current roster. i think ellsbury is in the team's longterm plans
  12. ellsbury had a freak rib injury. otherwise, he's been the picture of health. if we're going to upgrade an outfield position to protect against injury, it should probably be cameron as he's th oldest and he's not as productive as drew in a normal year. plus, with ellsbury playing good defense, we don't really need cameron to man center
  13. thanks, have a good one!
  14. i wouldn't dump on hughes too much. he's still only 24 and he has shown an ability to pitch much better than this. as bad as he's been, his era is only 4.01. remember, buchholz had a 4.21 era, 1.38 whip last year at the same age that hughes is now
  15. what a disappointment ellsbury and granderson have been. they're both batting 9th and deservedly so
  16. missed the first two innins. looks like hughes is gotting knocked around, how has lester looked?
  17. going into the season with kalish or lowrie as a starting position player is highly unlikely. but you have to be excited about how our bench is shaping up for next year with kalish, lowrie and salty
