  1. But what if he doesn't?
  2. Speaking of Padres, not sure their approach is best.
  3. So Matt Kemp has arthritis and the Padres let the deal go through? This probably won't end well.
  4. That rotation is still not exactly all killer no filler. Even if you top it with an ace.
  5. Remember when Wil Myers was some kind of untouchable uberprospect? Now he's suddenly on his third team and sporting a .258 career BA.
  6. I apologize for repeating myself, but long, 100% guaranteed contracts stink. As a working stiff, it's an outrage to me that these idiots will be paid regardless of future performance. It's absolutely crazy. I'd much rather MLB had a NFL type system where only so much is guaranteed. Haven't you noticed how so many players seem to have their best or close to best season in their "walk" year? Make them earn it every year.
  7. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/eye-on-baseball/24887145/report-marlins-planning-on-giancarlo-stanton-opting-out-of-deal Dear Giancarlo, please, please, please DON'T opt out.
  8. well that escalated quickly.
  9. Shame he's never played a single game in the OF though.
  10. Marlins get Dee Gordon and Dan Haren (who might retire instead of pitching outside SoCal) Dodgers get Andrew Heaney, Kike Hernandez, Austin Barnes and Chris Hatcher I don't get why the Marlins threw in the extra players along with their top prospect. Dee Gordon had a breakout year, but it's also his only good season.
  11. Scherzer and Boras will be asking $200mil. Whether they get it will be another thing, but with Lester off the market, you can guarantee he will get north of Lester's deal.
  12. Signing Hanley is/was f***ing stupid. It's as simple as that. The moves look like Crawford and Gonzo ver 2.0. They haven't learned their lesson. I highly expect that their moves are gonna come back and bite them, and if they turn Cespedes (ie Lester) into an average return or worse, Im gonna be pissed.
  13. They're already talking platoon at SS. That's maybe the number one position where you need stability and continuity.
  14. Time to move the Panthers. http://www.pensburgh.com/2014/12/6/7308295/hello-miami-we-have-a-problem
  15. Wow! Wait, who's Josh Donaldson?
  16. God, Cueto is a punk, don't want any part of him.
  17. Apologies if I missed it, but the Sox are now willing to ignore their rule about multiple years to 30 yr old pitchers? Cos they ain't getting Lester for 3 years.
  18. Seager has done nothing to justify $100mil. This is if anything a premature move by Seattle.
  19. LOL, $100mil for Kyle Seager, GTFO. Is this what it's come to now? This blatant overpaying is turning me away from baseball, and making me less inclined to spend money on it.
  20. Sandoval OR Hanley was a sizeable risk - signing both is not good, IMO - especially if they expect Hanley to play the OF.
  21. Big money for a guy who has not played a single game in the OF so far as I can tell. I do know his penchant for laziness, so are we gonna see him lolligag after balls into the corner, a la Soriano?
  22. just gonna sit back and watch history repeat itself. good times.
  23. ^ this. How long are big boy's knees gonna hold out carrying that extra weight around? I'd like someone to do a stat of the ratio of runs lost (not scored) to weight slowing down the player on the basepaths.
  24. If we don't resign him and lose cespedes i'll be loling....but not.
