    And they absolutely must fix extra innings. Start each half with a man on 2nd. If it's still tied after 12 innings, the team with most hits wins, or something like that. 20 inning games help no one.

    Talk of the Marlins ticket line reminds me of a guy who was spotted trying to scalp Rays tickets. When the stadium was always 1/3 empty.

    Why would the owners agree to this? The whole point is to have the player under contract for a reasonable amount of time commeasurable to their investment.

    I thought at the time that the Marlins crossing the $300 mil threshold was stupidity. I don't care how good Stanton is, there's no reason to give a player that much of a commitment for that long. I'm still surprised Loria signed off on it, even though it was obvious they had no intention of honoring it.

    Too much to hope the owners wait them out and then smash the union into pieces. No more guaranteed contracts, no more DH. Draft signing bonuses in 5 figures max, not 7 or 8.

    Career 0.7 WAR. I said it before, no to any former Mets players, especially pitchers, and ESPECIALLY ones who can't stop being suspended for PEDs. I know it's only a minor league deal, but isn't there ANYONE else out there with a better track record who's available.
