  1. The Red Sox picked up two high school players in the first round tonight. One is a SS, and the other is a RHP. Awaiting some more info from one of the more prospect-minded posters !
  2. Probably not me. I have been very much down on Toronto's pitching for a while now, and their offense is very much dependent on the "if-healthy" clause.
  3. On paper, this game seems almost winnable. Hopefully Rubby got a big confidence last time out... this one might be a bit tougher.
  4. Gomes is still hitting .297/.425/.469/.894 against lefties. For some odd reason, Farrell has seemed to forgotten that he has a .169/.247/.296/.543 line against righties.
  5. Are they really that bad a team though? They have lost a ton of 1-run games, and have hit poorly with RISP. Sometimes I feel like if they had one more quality outfield bat they would be in much better shape. Losing Ellsbury and Victorino has broken the outfield.
  6. 10k post mojo usually pulls in atleast a 2 game winning streak, although often more.
  7. Just read an article this morning. The Red Sox are on track to field the worst outfield in team history. The outfield combined has a .620 OPS. They are 22nd, 24th and 28th in the majors at each outfield position. Last offseason I thought it was strange that the team didn't seem to even want to upgrade their outfield depth. I continue thinking it to be strange.
  8. Andrew Miller has not pitched well this season in clutch situations.
  9. Alex Hassan with the golden sombrero. Hope you enjoyed your cup of coffee, but I doubt you'll be starting again any time soon.
  10. The last time they had a sports teams win a championship was 1948. I'd imagine their fans are pretty beaten down by now.
  11. Cleveland with a 1 run lead, Peavy still pitching well and a fresh bullpen. The odds are pretty solid on this game.
  12. Will Myers out for atleast 8 weeks. Tough news for the Rays -- I wonder who ends up with David Price, and at what cost.
  13. Better start making the MVP trophies for him now.
  14. I don't understand why he got the start over Nava. I get it that Nava started out poorly, but Gomes has terrible splits against righties, and Masteron has great splits against righties. 3 strikeouts from Gomes seemed almost obvious.
  15. 1 run losses are always tough. Good to see Lackey gave the bullpen a day off though.
  16. When a team is hot, these are the kinds of games they win. Lackey looks like he can throw a complete game tonight -- 7.1 IP at 85 pitches.
  17. Brock Holt is 0-2, and Stephen Drew got on base every single plate appearance. I think that is enough proof for me to decide that Stephen Drew is the superior player.
  18. John Lackey had not allowed an earned run since May 17th, as he shut out both the Braves and Rays. Cleveland doesn't stand a chance.
  19. Sounds like a Ten Game Losing Streak Baseball Vacation to me.
  20. The cavalry has arrived. Stephen Drew and Daniel Nava will be back in the lineup -- much needed left handed batters against the ROOGY Masterson.
  21. I went to look the same stat up on yahoo, and it had a .322/.444/.401/.793 line. What the heck is up with Yahoo sports statistics nowadays? But absolutely, Masterson has always had a hard time getting out lefties. Ortiz will launch a couple here.
  22. I am a bit surprised Robertson hasn't been extended by now. So far, he's provided an almost entirely seemless transition from Mariano, which is priceless. What happened tonight -- did he get hurt?
