  1. The Angels started off slowly, but they're in a very weak division, and are likely going to be able to run away with it because they don't need to fight tooth and nail with three other contenders to get the spot. They'll be able to line up their rotation perfectly. They're also very active at the deadline, and could end up with Hamels/Greinke. Take your pick. Weaver, Haren, Wilson, Hamels. Its not a good matchup for the red sox.
  2. Sell. There are too many players leaving in 2012/2013 that aren't a big part of this team's future, and they'd be worth a ton to other teams. In order to win the division, the Red Sox will need to go 47-26, with a .643 winning percentage, and the Yankees wil have to go 37-37. So the Yankees will have to collapse, the Red Sox will need to turn into complete juggernauts, and the Orioles, Blue Jays, and Rays will all need to wilt and disappear... except in AL East games. It just doesn't make sense to risk all those beautiful trading chips for a winner take all 1 on 1 matchup with 2012 AL Cy Young Winner, Jared Weaver.
  3. Kelly Shoppach and Saltalamacchia still have a full 1.00 ERA difference in catcher ERA's. In his first full year as the primary catcher without Tek's help, the pitching staff has completely fallen off a cliff. I think Iggy would help, but I'm still convinced that Salty is seriously hurting the staff.
  4. Bogaerts could end up being a SS, a 2B, or an outfielder. He isn't necessarily locked in at 3B
  5. The lineup is finally back! Took long enough.
  6. Well, not that, but I'm talking about the impact on the trade market. It may make Josh Beckett very moveable.
  7. I just don't see Cecchini and Britton getting it done. Garza is worth more to the Cubs than Cecchini, IMO, and other teams would certainly be willing to beat that price.
  8. No Greinke. No Hamels. No Dempster. No Marcum. Maybe Garza.
  9. Apparently he ended up getting optioned to Pawtucket. He must be looking at his .387 batting average, and is pissed:lol:
  10. There are four spots occupied by Gomez, Lillibridge, Punto, and Ciricao. Cut two of those guys, and make an outfield of Crawford/Ells/Nava/Ross/Sweeney. We've seen 5 outfielders before. The real problem comes when Pods is coming back.
  11. I've been making a very similar post for some time, and many of the more realistic posters have been following suit So yes, I absolutely agree with you. There are a considerable number of pieces that they can trade without hurting this team's future whatsoever. Beckett does need to go, but I firmly believe that his departure will turn things around for Lester, and allow him to take the role as the ace of the rotation instead of being pitcher 1b. Salty may hit home runs, but he strikes out a lot, doesn't get on base, and his catcher ERA is absolutely pathetic. Shoppach's cERA -- 3.77. Salty's cERA -- 4.77. I know some people scoff at cERA, but when the trend is this blatant throughout a player's career, it becomes more of a reality than a matter of circumstance.
  12. Cody Ross would have done damage there.
  13. Is Cody Ross available to pinch hit? This would be the place to do it.
  14. In the last three games, Pedro has ten hits. That's crazy.
  15. Pedro 3-3. I don't care what his future potential is, that's studly.
  16. Brewers are also preparing an offer for Greinke. How crazy would it be to see them both off the table?
  17. Oh man, what I would do right now for some more YotN limmericks:lol:
