    The last two weeks, they've been talking about getting a player who will be under control for longer than this season. They have not been into major discussions about Greinke/Hamels, but rather guys like Josh Johnson, and Garza. Those guys will cost 2-3 top prospects.

    That's what the asking price ALWAYS is for elite players under control. 2-3 elite prospects. We gave up three for A-gon, three for Vmart. Three for Jimeniz, three for Granderson.... There is absolutely no reason to make that trade. Its one thing for them to make excuses for the beginning of the seasons, but right now, no one should blame them for not adding a pitcher when it'll end up being a worthless move anyway.

    Unfortunately he is a part of that group-- perhaps more so than Jon Lester. He was teeing off with Beckett during golfgate, remember?

    They've explicitly said Lester is offlimits. Based on Buchholz's recent performances, he is absolutely not the kind of guy they'll want to sell low on. They've also explicitly told teams that they shouldn't bother asking about Lavarnway. Agon, Lackey, Crawford are not going anywhere.

    Perfect timing on the injury. Had it happened a day sooner, I bet they could have gotten Hanley at half his contract for Darnell Mcdonald.
