  1. If he was playing SS, he'd probably have a decent chance at ROTY. Its a shame they can't move Drew over.
  2. Middlebrooks didn't start at 3B in 2012. He was called up when Youk got hurt, and he hit his way onto that team. Very similar situation.
  3. In all fairness, we were saying the same exact thing about Iglesias last year.
  4. It looked like Victorino ran over to make the catch, put himself into a great position, missed the fly ball, and took two steps backwards to make it look like he hurt himself instead of looking bad defensively, but ended up knicking his head on the wrong part of the banner. Is it just me, or does it seem like moving Victorino out of center field is causing him a lot of grief? He doesn't have a clue how to play against a wall, and for a player of such top-end defensive value it is concerning.
  5. One side of Yankee Stadium is on River Ave. It surprises me quite a bit they haven't added an "a" yet.
  6. In all fairness, who wasn't wrong about Dempster? With Anibel Sanchez with shoulder issues, he could very well turn into the best free agent pitcher that was available last year... although that says more about the competition than himself
  7. Bailey wasn't even around in the chicken 'n' beer era...
  8. You know, it made sense at the beginning of the year, when we all said "Well, if Lester and Buchholz return to form, maybe...." Right now, it just seems silly:lol:
  9. Peavy is hurt, Sale is untouchable, and Danks has a tough contract. So probably not, but who knows.
  10. Looks like the Sox are seeing Ordy a lot better the second time through.
  11. Unproven rookie with a good arm that hasn't figured out the majors yet... 7 shutout innings probably
  12. Tex back to DL. There goes the idea that they're getting healthier.
  13. In all fairness, he only included trade candidates, and no pitchers that were more likely to be dumped. Those are mostly guys who will cost a mid-range prospect and up.
  14. We see it all the time. Closers who are otherwise unbeatable go through rough stretches where they have trouble getting players out. After being lights out, Bailey has gone through a rough patch. Fortunately he toughed this one. It seems like he's thrown a ton of pitches lately, that's probably it.
  15. I feel awful for Cobb, that one looked like more than a 7 day DL trip. Rays are in rough shape, it simply means the Sox need to take today and tomorrow because the Orioles are serious competition right now.
  16. What does everyone think about Gallardo? It'll probably take RDLR to pry him away, and I don't think he's worth that.
  17. Seriously man, if you're bad mojo, why keeping game threads? Have you ever seen me make a gamethread? No? I'm 1-3 lifetime, that's why:lol:
  18. Pedro is going to hit a bunch of bombs in San Diego this week I bet.
  19. Considering the shortstop turnover of this organization, I'd say its about 2 years late.
  20. I am under the impression that Webster and Rubby need a bit more seasoning. I also have concerns about Buchholz's health.
  21. The Sox offense was doing a lot better when Middlebrooks was on the DL.
  22. I look up from my computer to see Nava with a webgem catch in the OF. I think it may be time for a jersey.
  23. Signing Marcum would be the equivalent of signing someone like a Roy Oswalt, or Tim Lincecum, at a smaller cost. He's not a tier-1 option, and probably not even a tier-2 or tier-3 option. He's a guy who had success as recently as last year, but who has also recently had serious shoulder and back issues. Perhaps I've oversold his ceiling as a pitcher, but you're essentially arguing against trading for a depth player who will cost little-to-nothing.
