  1. In the playoffs they don't see much playing time unless its out of necessity. Anyways I suppose yrtb's approach of giving the team with a better bench 2 points total is fair enough.
  2. I don't think bench players should hold much value, let alone come to down the winner and loser of a matchup. Someone could've stacked there bench with all DH's and have the best bench statisticly yet make little sense from a team standpoint.
  3. I suppose I'll swap K-Rod and Wilson for my next match
  4. Yeah Ortiz gave him a bad batch.
  5. Pettitte will be refeshed now and should be sharp the rest of the year. They can go with a 3 man rotation again in the post season and not worry about Vazquez pitching. If Burnett is on track they can even shift Hughes into the pen.
  6. Damon and Matsui haven't been so hot this year Damon has a .278 AVG with 37 RBI's, 7 HR's, and 7 SB's Matsui has a .243 AVG with 57' RBI's and 14 HR's
  7. Sox lucked out tonight, if Thames's blast went a inch or two further instead of hitting the top of the wall the game would've concluded with a 3 - 2 score
  8. No when they showed it in Slow Mo' he clearly missed catching the ball
  9. Lester has lost four straight since the All-Star break, the longest losing streak of his career, with a 5.06 ERA over that span. Lester has also faced the Yankees twice this season, going 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA.
  10. I have a feeling this sereis will be split, with the Sox winning tonight and Yanks winning tomorrow.
  11. Ah okay, I didn't realize thats how it worked.
  12. You jinxed it by deleting the game thread I made. :harhar:
  13. I don't believe it will hurt them that much at all. Relate it to revenue, during 2009 the Yankees had $375 million in revenue, which means that for every dollar the Yankees spent on salary, they had $1.86 in revenue, about the league average. At the end of his career its entirely possible he'll be the all time home run's leader and first player to join the 800 club. Its unfortunate his career will forever be tainted by being linked to steroids.
  14. the new Yankees Stadium encourages people not to be in their seats by offering various things to do around the stadium and spend money, not to mention they have moniters everywhere so you'll never miss a thing where ever you are.
  15. I concur, this is probably the nail in the coffin for any hope the Sox had to make the playoffs this season. Injuries have really plagued the team this year between Beckett, Ellsbury, V-Mart, Pedroia and now Youkilis.
  16. Alright nevermind then lol
  17. Yes we all know Alex Rodriguez used steroids for during the 3 years he was in Texas out of his 17 year career, does that mean the other 14 years should count for nothing? Alex had his best career year in 2007 and won the AL MVP when drug testing was well in place. Obviously he's far talented enough to be an elite player without Roids.
  18. No. 600 for A-Rod!!!!!
  19. Probably not many, Toronto has alot of Blue Jays fans.
  20. Its not a vast improvement but I still think its a positive move. Chan Ho Park is 37 now, I'm not sure how much he has left in the tank, while Kerry Wood is 33. Also injuries have held Wood back this season so I wouldn't soley compare the numbers alone. If it was a downgrade like you're suggesting, do you think the Yankees would've bothered wasting there time making a trade?
  21. Its boggles my mind why Girardi would rest his players against the one team that is on the verge of taking them out of first place.
