  1. The Sox pitching was worlds better on paper, but not that season.
  2. On paper, the Red Sox had a better rotation. We had two legitimate aces in Pedro and Schilling, who both had better seasons than any 2004 Yankees pitchers. Although, I wouldn't say that we were leagues ahead, by any stretch.
  3. Oh, okay. Hard to detect that sometimes.
  4. You're letting your fandom get in the way. There's no value of your guys' coming back, two of those pitchers you'd have faced are complete garbage, and you guys were favored by a s*** ton. It's not even close.
  5. yeszir is Bugs Bunny.
  6. Also, the 2004 Yanks were built on slugging, not on pitching. 2004 ALCS>>>>>>>2010 ALCS, it's not even close either.
  7. You made a very wise edit. Not that it changes that the Yankees were favored, or that those guys stopped them from winning the first 3 games of that series.
  8. Oh LMFAO I didn't even see that. Yeah, that's just huge homerism right there. This isn't even close to being as great as the 2004 ALCS, even if the Yanks won the next two games on walk-off homers.
  9. If there's one thing the Yankees know too well, is that it's never over. First game where it looks like the Yankees outplayed the Rangers so far. Rangers just need to close this one out so I don't start pulling my hair out.
  10. I think everyone would like Girardi to get a 10-year extension, except for some Yankees fans I'd guess.
  11. Joe Girardi is one of the worst strategic managers in baseball. Right up there with Gardy and Manuel.
  12. Roy Halladay>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>NL
  13. I think he's very good, I think he's HOF material, but ESPN would have you believe he's the greatest of all time. At the end of his career, Peyton Manning will be the greatest QB who's ever played. Guy's got the skills of Marino (Who was a puss), and the toughness of Favre. Granted, he sucks in the playoffs like Favre too.
  14. Nope, but who's his competition? Aside from Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, who have been consistently very good? You have an old Brett Favre, who was in his prime in the mid-late 90s. You have Brees, who's only emerged a few seasons ago, same goes for Aaron Rodgers. Michael Vick? Donovan McNabb? He has little competition, this decade is pretty poor in quarterbacks compared to the 90s. Elway, Marino, Favre.. There's 1-2-3 in practically every QB stat ever. Manning is vastly superior to Brady, though.
  15. holy team accomplishments Batman!
  16. I had to watch game 6 of the 1991 World Series to forget about how s***** the Twins are in the playoffs now. #34 saving our asses, then forcing game 7. We seriously don't have that kind of clutch anymore.
  17. While I agree Brady is MASSIVELY overrated, he's only put up elite numbers with elite tools to work with, he's traditionally very mistake-free. His early years without Moss and co., he would tear away slowly at defenses with short passes and handing off to power runners. His low YPA is products mainly to BB's offensive strategy. While I agree he's not the legend that Pats fans, and the Pats fans that are television announcers, would have you believe. I still think he's a very good QB. And yes, Brady gets entirely too much credit for those Super Bowl wins, when he should really be thanking the defense and Adam V.
  18. They were 1 or 2 in total defense for most of 2001-2007, 2003 they had 3 1st team all-pros in that season, along with 3 others who were 1st team all-pro in previous seasons. They were 1st in total every defensive statistic, and went 14-2 while only averaging 22 ppg.
  19. I just think you could be a little more respectful and realistic. The 2001-2004 Patriots DID field what many consider one of the best defensive units in NFL history. They had 6 all-pros on their squad, if you don't think they're elite, you're out of your mind, they held the Rams, one of the most prolific offenses in NFL history, to nothing for most of the game. The Pats built a strong possession offense on short pass receivers and power running backs, not unlike the Steelers of, well, the past 40 years. Their defense was a wall, I don't see how you can dispute that.
  20. You think everyone's an impact player dude, you're counting on too many loose ends for me to take your argument seriously.
