Nick makes a lot of good observations about Bard, Aceves, Morales, Lester, Papi, Middlebrooks, Iggy and Oswalt. Makes you wonder about the pitching decisions being made on the Red Sox.
The first question from a reader in California is a puzzle, though. The guy is questioning why upper management doesn't get more of the blame since they control the personnel--hiring and firing? The guy says he doesn't want to hear it's all Bobby Vs fault.
So Nick responds by accusing the guy of being unfair to Bobby V! I think he either misread the question or maybe was responding to a different question.
Nonetheless, reading Nick's columns, you can't help but think Bobby V doesn't have the team he wanted in spring training and the personnel decisions are being controlled by the front office. That's an upper management problem--Henry/LL.
