  1. Yeah I think Luis was about 0 fer 52 when Richard Nixon ( I believe ) sent him a telegram or letter wishing him well. Nixon, in any case, was a huge baseball fan. Sort of like George Will in some ways. He could talk baseball for hours. Of course he was still nuts. Probably a Yankee fan.
  2. "After a strong rookie season for the Red Sox in 2017, Benintendi purposely bulked up in the offseason so he can better withstand the rigors of the baseball marathon. "I think just over a course of a year, I tend to lose a little weight," said Benintendi. "So I think staying a little stronger this year and just trying to get through the season healthy, that extra weight will help." As I was saying. I don't make this s*** up. Of course with no supporting data I can understand why my post would be questioned.
  3. I read and saw in interviews a while back that both Bennie and Holt put on weight intentionally because they believe that they will better be able to withstand the long season physically. Bennie bulked-up his upper body coming into the 2017 season. Now he says he has gained mass on the rest of his body. Also, he cropped his hair so his head does appear different even if he had not gained weight. Before the ST report date for position players Holt was in camp and he had the midriff of Butthead's Father. He looked f***ing porky. Now he looks a little more fit but he continues to carry more weight than last year. Holt does not "look" as fast but that could be just an impression aided by getting gun down by a large margin at the plate. I don't know. I think Bennie has the same swing and approach. He was hitting well in ST and is in a mini-slump ( as compared to Louis Apericio sp ). He will start hitting soon, I think.
  4. The Thundertrain.
  5. Yeah that Reddit page is much easier to deal with than the other pirate sites. I hope that cp176 is paying attention.

    Golf

I saw some of the highlights from the Swede vs. Korea. That was pretty cool how they went back and forth and even played on an illuminated course. Competition in golf can be intense, regardless of sex.
  7. Boom. In a SSS I have seen a guy with good command of several pitches. He does not over-power anyone. But he knows how to pitch. I hope he has a solid to great year. That would be huge.
  8. He does not often get cheapies, does he? I hope he has a monster year.
  9. I have predicted that he will have a good year at the plate.
  10. It's a good thing they play 162 games.
  11. This streak brought to you by Thunder Road.
  12. Oh f*** I am laughing. Maybe he is the Cornhollio of Sox nation.
  13. Just contact me with a pm when the time comes. I will provide you with links.
  14. You can watch the games on-line for free when you get there.
  15. It will be a long and interesting season. It's just really fun to see the vaunted Yanks falter. And in such colorful fashion! He said doofus.
  16. Hahahahahahaha!1!1!
  17. And the Yankees lost? Another beautiful day!
  18. f*** yes!!!! Sox are now 3-1.
  19. lol Two away.
  20. Gas can Kelly in to close this out. Where is my blood pressure medication?
  21. You live to counter just about anything said by many. Regardless if you are "correct". It's not rocket surgery and the ultimate word is not essential for most. Unless someone has a dire need for validation.
  22. No. I see it as a proportional response to a post that was intended to negate my opinion. That being the second consecutive time this had happened in the thread in a matter of hours. You can kiss your buddy's balls if you wish.
  23. It is always heart warming to see the refugees back each other. All I have said is that Bogey is not a laibility and that he makes most of the plays even with what some seem to believe is a limited range. Everyone who has been here for years knows I do not put much stock in some of the defensive metrics. I see Bogey making plays that he could not make routinely when he first came up. I think that is improvement. I do not see him making many mistakes that lose games or contribute to a loss. If other see that, they should see an eye doctor. The Guy can hit when healthy. Again, I do not see poor defense from him and I do not see him as a liability in any way. And yes, I do know there are better defensive players at his position. My last two comments met with the usual "I know more than you because I like numbers". Horseshit.
  24. Lol. I came inside and looked at the tv and thought I saw Kelly. Yeah. Take him out.
  25. Pull him. All three outs were hit dead nuts. His luck is limited. Who should be brought in?
