  1. Maybe the Sox and NESN don't actually lose anything tangible. What you fail to recognize is that many fans that tune in on TV really enjoy Orsillo. In this case, those fans loose. I remember watching every episode of Star Trek in the Sixties. It was my favorite show. Then it was cancelled.
  2. This. Everyone here knows how I hate big contracts. A mega deal for Price would be insane. But as a fan, that guy is dominant and a tough competitor. I think that he would love it and thrive in Boston. I even think that Papi would be giving him big hugs in the dugout. Of all the FA pitchers available, this is the guy I want. I doubt that it gets done, though.
  3. Indeed. Some may say apples and oranges. The Celtics are in a protracted rebuild and the fans are still there every night. I've said this many times here. To garner fan loyalty in this market a franchise must appear as though it is trying to win and go for a championship. There are too many lifers among Sox fans for a mass exodus to occur.
  4. The answer is that he was channeling Alan Webster. He did a great job.
  5. Still, I think that we have been placated to some degree by very good pitching recently from Miley, Kelly, and now Porcello. All the production from the young guys and Papi have combined to make the team fun to watch. At least until the bullpen is summoned.
  6. Not sure where to post this. I just noticed Marcus Strowman is making a rehab start for the Jay's Single A affiliate tonight. I figured he was done until next year with a reconstructed ACL. Wow. I hope that all goes well because he is one talented young pitcher. I enjoy watching him play.
  7. How about getting pitchers that can go an entire season. I will never concede that 13 mil is a value for any part time pitcher. If it were 5-7 mil with incentives, maybe. Planning for failure is just dumb. No matter how one rationalizes it.
  8. My point is if there was a need to trade him now what for ( why ) and how is this of benifit to the Sox going forward? I would like to have seen De Aza back next year as the #4 OF. Whatever. And yes, I am aware of Brock Holt.
  9. f*** the draft. I want wins now. GO SOX!!!!1!!!
  10. I don't see any value in the De Aza trade. The Sox got an ineffectual Low A pitcher. How does that help now Dave?
  11. I am of the belief that planning a roster around a part time player is stupid regardless what WAR and "market terms" seem to indicate. I'd much rather have a guy I can play all season. He'll likely be back. Too bad.
  12. Nonsense. They paid him $22. mil a year for 4 years. That is what can be said.
  13. But, but, but, they asked him to change position. It's not his fault!!!! I'm with you. Get rid of the f***ing bum.
  14. f*** any New York team. Bring the hammer and broom down on Thor and his band of losers. GO SOX!!!!1!!1
  15. Fat from eating the Mets for lunch and dinner. So much for good pitching always prevailing!!!!
  16. I say he is still very young and learning his craft. Hold onto him unless he yields a stud top of the rotation type guy.
  17. Never the less he could still trade Buch. Although there will be no evidence other than a physical that Buch is healthy enough to trade for.
  18. CY Kelly will show the Mets who is boss.
  19. GO SOX!!!1!!!!! This game is of no importance to the Sox. But any victory against any New York team is sweet.
