    His mother told me that he played SS and 3rd. And he played catcher "a couple of times in All Star games at the request of scouts". Who says he played 2nd in HS?

    Just heard Cora sing praises of Poms start. Normally I like listening to Cora because he is a straight shooter. But this time he may have been on drugs. Then Pom himself said he was pleased with his outing except for two pitches ( curve balls that left the yard ). He said his curve ball was good. Ooookay. Maybe.

    You don't just give up on a guy like Sanchez. That guy has legit swat. Not many guys have that. AS Doc says he does have an arm, too. He can't block the ball for s*** and he seems to be a dufus.

    I've said this all along. Pom is Buch without the promise and occasional appearance of wipe-out stuff. He is going to get pounded. DD needs to be shopping hard.

    So who is complaining about that? I just voiced concern over him whiffing more than he has. And now hos BA has dropped from .365 to around .350. It had been going up.

    I am curious as to why you think that of Shaw? From all counts I have read or heard, he loved it here. He came up with JBJ, Mookie, Swihart, and Marerro. They were big time buddies. They were pumped to be playing together here.

    Ain't that a surprise! I can see how many would think that I was serious about Jacky whiffing. No, from what I have seen, Mookie has had a rough time very recently. He seems to be striking out most games after striking out rarely before that. These things are cyclic. I think he will be pounding the ball again soon.

    In any case the question is not who do we trade for. The question is how much over the 237 cap is Henry really willing to go? If he says f*** it, lets get the best pieces to help us now and maybe for next season and beyond, we could see anyone. The dearth of desirable prospects in our system may seem daunting. But if a team has a player that the want to unload for money reasons look out.

    Hmm. Jackie has been striking out a lot recently. Is that cause for concern?

    It was indeed. Another great play was when when someone doubled into the left-center gap. Bennie takes the ball off the wall and makes a strong throw to Bogey at second who pegs it home to cut down a runner by a mile. I know people love the long ball ( admit that I do ) but when you see well executed defense it has to make you smile. That is baseball in it's essence.

    Did anyone else think that was a nifty play to end the game? He may not be George Scott, but Moreland does play a good 1st base. Now if he could only hit 30 homers a like proper 1st baseman should.

    Yes it would be awesome. I just enjoy watching him play and hope he does not s*** himself. He has had one game where he looked stupid. Most of the time he is getting the job done. His hitting will pick-up with consistent at bats, I THINK. Vazquez has that pin in the pinky of his throwing hand. How confident are you that he will recover and be productive by October? Is the pin going to be a problem? Are they planning on removing it before he attempts to return? This is one of those cases where your favorite poster comes in handy. I have seen no weaknesses behind the plate with Swi. We have it on ultimate authority that his "framing" is substandard. Looks okay to me. He has done a fine job blocking s*** in the dirt. Improvement there.

    No you have me wrong here. I was making reference to his s*** call with Bogey rounding 3rd and about to score in Detroit. The play where Devers is run down near 3rd. Feebles f***ed up big time there. Bogey would have scored and Devers would have been in safe at 3rd.

    There have been too many for this old fart to remember. I do recall Swihart's gaff recently. It's just low IQ baseball. And that turd 3rd base coach. What's his deal? The poster that says this s*** will cost this team in the playoffs has a solid point.
