  1. I guess it was David Clyde.
  2. Does anyone remember the name of the high school kid that got drafted and immediately was a starting pitcher for the Rangers way back when ( '70s )? Not that it is relevant.
  3. Advanced imaging cost money and exposes the patient to potentially harmful energy. Maybe they wait to see how much swelling and loss of function there is before using MRI and such. If the initial swelling is not significant and does not seem to get worse maybe that is viewed as a sign that there is not significant damage as in torn ligaments and cracked bones? Maybe Jacko can fill us in.
  4. What of the new gut Evoldi ? (SP).
  5. Yup. Hence the yo-yo. I like what Workman can bring. I have since 2013.
  6. We actually agree on most of the advanced stat stuff too. I am just not a big fan of WAR and UZR/UZR150. Or as Alex Cora says "UZL or whatever".
  7. Lol. Makes me appreciate Pomeranz.
  8. Again, I agree. Velazquez can provide multiple innings and spot starts ( good for no more than 5 1/3 innings ). I was happy DD found him wasting away in Mexico last year. I said at the beginning of this year that Velazquez would likely be a key part on this team in 2018. So far he has been.
  9. I agree with you that the signing of both Lind and Phillips were good "depth" moves. Now with Pearce and Kinsler on board both the depth signings are of no significance. But they could have been.
  10. Boom. The Sox screwed that pooch big time.
  11. My guess is Kimmi was referring to a player with the ability to make a bigger impact and at greater expense. I see Shoop went to the Brewers. He is having a downish year but he would have been a good long-term replacement for the cooked Pedroia.
  12. This is an appropriate moment to just say meh.
  13. At least we still have David Price as #2.
  14. I hope not. I am not trying to rationalize Devers' physique. He does look a little limp out there. He may not be ripped. But his uni looks baggy and I believe that amplifies his appearance as a porker. I saw a video of Devers being coached at 3rd the other day. He did not have his game uni on . He had on work-out clothes that seemed to reveal his body. I though he looked proportional and fit as compared to his appearance in his game uni. He also seems to get down the line pretty well for a guy who is reported to be 6'1", 237 or whatever. Obviously, no one wants him to gain more weight going forward. These are just my casual observations.
  15. Somebody must have missed two PATs. How the f*** does that happen in the major leagues?
  16. Unfortunately this is what Pom Goodness looks like now. Let's all be thankful that the score is only 2-0. He got through 5 innings. So did we.
  17. Kinsler arrived and told Cora he needed to get back in the box for some reason. Which I forgot. He got here early enough for interviews and BP. I imagine he is ready to go.
  18. Yup. He's the best catcher on the team, bat notwithstanding.
  19. Just using ERA in the past I have always generalized that you can subtract approximately 1/2 a run per game for NL Pitchers as apposed to AL pitchers.
  20. You can if you just want to mess with a700. We see it frequently.
  21. My feelings exactly on both subjects.
  22. In the words of Carnac The Magnificent: "I did not know that."
  23. Well he was actually traded to the As.
