Stats are your raison d'etre. Without them you have no opinion and no way to defend your opinion. I, on the other hand, do not give a sweet f*** about advanced stats that are not accurate or whose validity can be questioned. I do understand how they can become a way of life for some and that's cool for them. You are inflexible and live to challenge anyone who does not swallow your statements as fact simply because you read an article written by some obscure dweeb.

Interesting observation coming from someone who never acknowledges that she may not be right and that other viewpoints may be valid. I used statistics in science, industry, and business every day of my adult life. They were essential components for success in important endeavors. Baseball is a game. It is entertainment. It is not essential to my existence. Neither are stats when stating my opinions about a game that I watch for amusement.

So stand pat with three healthy starting pitchers and roll out a bunch of lesser talents and loose more games? If this team is built to win this season they should fortify the roster when necessitated by significant injury. To do less is to do less. Not better.
