  1. Welcome Hoss. NO. I never like the idea of creating a hole just to TRY to plug another. We had a revolving door at SS for years and having X, JBJ, and Pedroia up the middle is pretty stout defensively. I say stay the course and see how Devers develops. Life sure was simpler when Holt was healthy.
  2. Yes, I would hope so. However I also believe that sometimes these manager types get ideas in their heads and just stick with them, right or wrong. Sometimes they may be a little too close to make subtle distinctions.
  3. In a post game interview on NESN Vasquez said he played 9 games at 3rd in A ball and the 2 more games someplace else unintelligible. When asked if he was any good at 3rd he said "yes".
  4. It's always good to set goals!
  5. Yes. Something really important like that.
  6. He has a broken big toe. I'm cutting him some slack.
  7. Two neurons are not enough sometimes.
  8. Ah. I had not thought of that. Probably because I am rational and don't like to throw clumps of money around carelessly. But among the low or lower priced schlock this is the type of guy you hope to stumble upon. I'll stick my little guy out and guess that he will be a solid contributor if this team makes a run in the second half. Of course it won't matter much if this team does not hit up to expectations.
  9. Chris Sale looks pretty athletic and swift with the bat. My guess is Farrell will use him as a reserve infielder if needed. Am I right?
  10. This is why I have said that he may be a decent example of finding a useful and needed part while dumpster diving. No one expects him to be great and most of you guys say he sucks pinata dicks. I think he may be useful this season.
  11. Maybe he was on furlow and the prison wanted him back? I am sure both neurons were involved in the transfer!
  12. Don't worry as there no doubt be reams of statistics to support his decision. Maybe Venus is in retrograde or something?
  13. Me too. I don't remember anything between the top of the 4th and 5 1/3. Am I to assume that the can of tomatoes did his job? Also, I disagree with anyone who says Rutledge sucks at 2nd.
  14. The replays suggest that the HBP were intentional? How?
  15. Great. Stats are not everything but I can see how his non-move can be justified. Grady Little was justified too, I suppose. My eyes told me that Price was done after pitching with maybe 30% of his peak command. For the record I don't s*** on Farrell much.
  16. Yanks can go get Moose or another suitable placeholder.
  17. Send them Rusney or Craig back and pay their tab. Don deal.
  18. And it is anything but humorous!
  19. When it happened I almost jumped off the sofa and said those words. Dumb as f*** to bring him out especially after a long 1/2 inning. Predictable result and typical Farrell.
  20. Calm down Fred!
  21. Yup. Annoying as f***.
  22. That hill was just plain dumb. I do not like that corner in the middle of left field. If nothing else it looks stupid. It creates obstructed view for some fans and there is a really big area of dirt in front of it. Otherwise that park is built for homers and looks like a fun place to see a game.
  23. Well who knows where he was sitting but there was a very vociferous Sox contingent. So much so that Astros fans tried to drown them out.
  24. That was a perfect throw. And give some credit to Rutledge. He did his part well.
