    All true. However, it was something that could have been investigated. Pedro is not a teacher yet they bring him into camp each year to fiddle with young pitchers. Wake has been used to help Wright. Do they come with a background as teachers or as coaches?

    Maybe not. But I would have tried. I never suggested that Johnson could make Owens into his duplicate. They have the same body type and a sidewinder delivery may have better utilized Owen's lanky body. Use some imagination.

    It's almost criminal how Swihart has been squandered. I have said all along that he belongs at 3rd or 1st but y'all have constantly reminded me that "his bat is worth much more at Catcher". Now he is a gimp when he was a Gazelle. If he had been moved to third or first two years ago ( just let Butler fill in for whoever was injured ) he could have been a really productive player now. Oh well.

    The Sox have got this kid all f***ed up. I would have brought in Randy Johnson as a consultant and changed his slot to side arm. Yes, I know that Johnson is 6'10". But I think they could have gotten a decent reliever out of this change. Another Sox prospect bust, I am afraid.

    I forgot his name but it may have been Maddox. He looked good the other night. I prefer this approach to spending big bucks or chips on "known" relief arms. There are exceptions, of course.

    Oh you are over reacting! How dare you? It's just a little underperformance! Don't you know that this team was constructed to compensate for the loss of Ortiz by the addition of a full season of Beni in left,and the addition of Moreland and Sale? All that additional WAR should be enough to do the job. They don't have to score as many runs!!! The enhanced defense and run prevention of the rotation is more than enough to win the division and go deep in October. WAR rules!!!!! Get with the program old man!

    He has moments when he appears to be decent at it as in hard hit line shots that bounce straight back towards the infield. But your observation is legit. The past two games are prime examples of how he can misplay caroms allowing balls to get way behind him so he either has to run a shitload of JBJ has to back him up with a scoop. He is young, smart, and athletic. He also takes coaching well. He will get better. Much better, I think.
