  1. I, for one, am far less than satisfied with a .500 home stand.
  2. And of course now the Sox are reaping huge benefits from such a standard deal.
  3. So? You must have apoint. Is it that the Mariner's FO is smarter? Is it that the Sox FO got rooked? Who f***ing cares. It's milk over the dam. MVP has a point in any case. And I will add that paying a premium price for a pen arm is usually pretty stupid as many relievers seem lights out and then revert to sucking pond water. There are exceptions, of course.
  4. Losing a ball in the Sun is a completely random event. No way to plan for or react to it. Oh well. I am neither a detractor nor a defender of Farrell. To me, using Fister seems inexplicable given that the ace was fully rested. While I do like the idea of giving pitchers a breather now and then so they MAY be better able to throw well late in the season, I am scratching my squash as to why it had to be today. I can only assume Farrell knows something that we do not know. As in maybe that a starter is sore or is s***ing his brains out with a 24 hour bug or something like that. I hope so anyway. Otherwise our manager just gave a game away.
  5. One of the talking heads on the pre-game show said that Farrell wanted to give his rotation an additional day of rest. Hence Fister starting. Lovely. You can not play .500 ball at home and be taken seriously as a championship aspirant.
  6. I agree.
  7. ********. I am 62 and I have been hearing and using the word for most of my life. Harmony and anyone else here can say pretty much what they want as long as it is not a personal attack. You may take offense to it but you have no legitimate reason to attack another for doing so. Talksox has a certain culture, a flavor of it's own. Most of the long time members have absolutely no problem with profanity when used to emphasize an emotion or a point. In fact, the word makes things quite clear how the user feels. Something that is not always clear on the Internet. Instead of calling out a member and casting guilt on that member for what most now a days see as daily vernacular and specifically a word that we as Talksox members accept as part of effectively communicating, you would be better off just adapting to the norm of the board or consider just leaving and taking your pomposity and self righteousness elsewhere. "Warm regards".
  8. Yup. I have been thinking that, too. Plus there are a couple of other "kids" on the farm who have been getting it done as well. I say hang with them and see what sticks. Of course you and I have the same ideas on pen construction.
  9. I like this idea too.
  10. Power would be nice especially at 1st as we all seem convinced that it is necessary at that position. Absent that, at least Travis seems to be able to keep the line moving. That is a good trait, especially on this team.
  11. I have no problem with your use of the word. It's not as if you are telling a Talksox member to go f*** themselves. That would not be nice.
  12. Will Morris go to jail? Will he be suspended?
  13. I have a hunch Joey will go off today.
  14. I am approaching the point where I may need to acquire Crow recipes because of what Pom has been doing. The cool thing is that he can still get better. I hope he stays healthy.
  15. I'm glad that you two met. That's cool stuff. Two different people yet both really cool.
  16. But that is our team.
  17. Okay. Cash added functional parts that should help. I get that. I just believe that that word does not best describe the deal.
  18. Yesterday Farrell said that Workman finally has recovered from surgery and is back to what he was. I think this is really good news.
  19. Well I saw and heard this comment straight from the horse's ass. For whatever that is worth.
  20. How was this trade a "Blockbuster"? Yeah, I see a bunch of players having been moved so in that sense it was significant. But did this trade fundamentally or significantly change the composition of either team?
  21. Lol. He hit a 2 run dinger with the score 4-1 and the title of the video says his blast made the score 4-2.
  22. If you are discussing Devers, yesterday on a NESN pre-game interview DD said that Devers was not yet mentally prepared for MLB. Am I the only one who saw this? I'm not making this s*** up. Lol.
  23. "Upgrading" at catcher is not a priority as I see things. Both of our guys hit well enough and are not black holes. Their defense is very solid. I don't know how to evaluate "game calling" and "handling of a pitcher". But no one is complaining about those aspects, either. No need to f*** with something that is not broken.
