  1. Meh. I like KC for the Q and little else. Although I would take Hosmer and Perez on my team any day.
  2. Did you witness what Eck said live on the broadcast of that game? It sure sounds like you didn't. The Yuck was just a pretext. Followed by nothing even remotely negative. The exchange with OB ultimately concluded with the idea that ERod's line was not important. That most pitchers would be rusty. They concluded that the Sox were looking to see if the knee was sound enough to go forward and pitch and that there was nothing to worry about since ERod felt fine. Making assumptions based on incomplete information is not helpful.
  3. I don't doubt this but how do you know? I have not seen any Sox reports today. If this so I am not surprised. TRADE PEDROIA!!!!!!
  4. Nonsense. While I don't care for a lot of the s*** the media spews the vast majority of it is factual and reported responsibly. I was watching the game that night when Eck said "yuk" in response to OB stating ERod's line in Pawtucket. It was only one word out of a benign exchange concerning the progress the gimp had made and what the team was looking for. Eck, in this instance at least, said NOTHING critical or offensive. I very much doubt that any of the individuals that confronted Eck or laughed even heard or saw a replay of what he had said.
  5. I was just watching videos of Nunez running the bases. Holy s*** that guy is fast. I don't really know how and where he will play even though I have read so much about him. I guess I'll just have to see what Johnny Neuron decides to do. In any case I am now reasonably optimistic that Nunez can help this team. By the way, I have always loved speed on the base paths since I saw Curt Flood and Lou Brock in the 1967 series. Now I will sit back and wait to be told how speed does not really matter all that much. 5 4 3 2 1....
  6. I agree. But how can they significantly upgrade at 1st without going over the cap? Can they trade enough off the 25 man to negate the addition of a big ticket power hitting 1st baseman? Does DD even think about this? I kind of doubt that it is being considered seriously at this point. But of course I could be very wrong.
  7. The batting circle thing was funny. I am sure most of us wish we had him back in Boston.
  8. Cool. Otherwise a disaster of a road trip.
  9. He looked good in Pawtucket the other day. Sign him up!
  10. I am not so sure about that. Even if he is completely miserable in Boston do you think he is stupid enough to walk away from all that guaranteed money at his age? How many teams would be willing to spend that much or more with inflation to sign him even if he is an ace?
  11. Do you think Price is tradable with his hefty contract?
  12. Why couldn't he simply say something like "We'll see how things go"?
  13. f*** that. More likely it is crap buggering up the keyboard. My laptop is on an island in my kitchen so airborne grease and oil along with 6 years of dust are the antagonists.
  14. After hearing this news I just blew a load in my pants. This team is glory bound!
  15. This is another sign of weak intellect. Why should anyone be surprised? Johnny Neuron has spoken.
  16. The F and G keys on my six year old laptop are sticking and as a consequence my already s***** spelling appears worse. I am too f***ing lazy to proof read my posts! I have a call into Clay for a replacement. All should be well soon.
  17. Our lead off hitter just lead off with a single.
  18. Having Sale on the mound to try to stop the bleeding certainly helps.
  19. In the real world as in working at a real job, s*** like this gets employees reprimanded in some way. At the least being dragged into an office and scolded by a boss type or Human Resources. Sometimes people get suspended for this type of thing. And then this goes on the employees record and he or she is reminded of it come performance review time. I have been a Price fan since he came up. But this s*** does not wash. Farrell says this has been "handled internally". No s*** numb nuts. No one has expected a town square flogging. I just question the effectiveness of this so called handling of the situation. I get the impression that Price and his band of immature twits have gotten off easy. Trade one to a s***-hole team. Sit someone out for several games. State publicly that this type of behavior will not be allowed on this team. It's funny, this team is quick to tarnish players on the way out of town ( those who live proximal to Boston know this best ) but don't seem to be able to enforce discipline and civil behavior for current employees. Weak management.
  20. Good post. This could easily devolve into something like or worse than chicken and beer.
  21. The kid with the long hair looks promising. What was given up to the Yankees to acquire him?
  22. I don't get it. Not for lack of trying. You mean Lester had a poor attitude? I just want to know what you mean.
  23. Yup. Platooning him stunts his development. Lefty pitchers exist. It is inevitable that he will face them if he has an MLB career. I don't want more flawed and limited hitters on this team. It's a waste of roster space anyway. Let him face both arms. And f*** Nunez. He can eat scraps.
