I agree. Along with almost every Sox fan I know. Still not sure how that would have worked with the cap. Oddly, the market for his services never developed. He signed for seemingly cheap money. I think the Sox never really wanted him. Sort of like Lester in a way.

I don't thinks so. The opinions were probably unchanged. It's probably just a matter of detractors keeping silent while the team was winning a few games. Once the team started to tank it became game on for criticizing Farrell. Fair or unfair, that is how it goes.

As I have said several times, I have admired Price's pitching since he came up. He had been very good to dominant the entire time prior to his arrival in Boston. He has what was for him an off year in 2016 and Boston fan aware of his big contract have jumped all over him. His seeming obsession with social media and responding to his detractors has done nothing to enhance his standing with fan in this market. Then he is "hurt" in spring training and gets off to a slow start. While he had appeared to be getting back to his old form, overall he has been less than stellar. Now he attacks a reporter and a prominent Boston player / color man in an unjustified and immature fashion. Hey Dave, if you want to pull this s*** around here you better be pulling your end on the field. Being a loudmouth mid- level performer does not give you much cred. Just shut the f*** up and do your job. Or go get surgery and shut the f*** up. Nobody wants to hear your s***.

The irony of paying Fatboy $48. mil to walk while the Sox "worry" about a tax hit on another player making half as much but looking like he can contribute is, to borrow a phrase from our long absent friend from the DR, "delicious". I am no longer concerned about being over the limit. Other than loosing draft picks ( which has undefined value in my view ), it's only a little more money spent after wasting so much more on bad signings. f*** John Henry. Clearly if spending $190. mil or so is not enough to bring this team to the promised land then then they need to cowboy-up and drop some more money. It only makes sense.

That is what most people are saying. The next thing they say is get him out of town as soon as possible. One way or another he is burying himself in the Boston market. Shame really. He was so good for so many years and then he gets the big contract to come to Boston and he gets hurt, shits himself, and get hurt again ( cough cough ). Another expensive mistake I guess.

They drew Sam Kennedy into it today. He says Eck is due an apology. I didn't care and thought the matter had died until yesterday. But there are clicks and ratings ( money ) at stake and it appears to be the most interesting story about this team this year so far for the majority of fans who love being fed this s***. This team needs to go on a sustained run of games won starting about now or this issue will come to define this season. Inconsistent results and the appearance of an unsettled and spoiled clubhouse will eventually hit Henry in the wallet. Not that I care about that ghoul. -
