  2. At the end of the day, I think we'd all be happy with Wakefield's performance. More often than not that gets him an easy win.
  3. As much as I wanted to see Wakefield get another win (and for the Sox to beat the Rays) this was bound to happen. He went 5 1/3 innings against the Yankees and gave up 5ER and still got the win, so a 7 inning 1ER loss was in the books. Normally with our offense that's a comfortable win for Wakefield, but you can't win them all. Hopefully we can start a new streak now!!!
  4. That's a sign that we should all vote for J-EEEZY then.
  5. I wish that I wasn't too lazy to vote.
  6. Let's go Cougar Mojo!!!
  7. My apologies for my earlier post guys.
  8. Perhaps, but that doesn't make a point about it being competitive. Competitive is related to being even/close (not a blowout), not related to being offensive based.
  9. I don't really see how that's true, since it's all or nothing, either they both have it or they both don't. I don't see how both leagues having the DH makes it any more competitive than both leagues not having it.
  10. In my opinion it just needs to be consistent. Whether the NL has the DH, or the AL pitchers bat (I'd prefer the former) but it has to be consistent. That makes it easier to compare statistics and negotiate FA salaries. And it also makes it easier to gauge fantasy baseball player value.
  11. I don't know the bonuses, but it looks like we've also signed, or will shortly sign 11th rd Kevin Brahney (LHP), 13th rd Matty Ott (RHP), 14th rd Mike McCarthy (RHP), 15th rd Braden Kapteyn (1b) 22nd rd Joe Holtmeyer (RHP) 24th rd Drew Turocy (OF), 39th rd Corey Vogt (RHP), and 45th rd Matt Gedman (2b) (In addition to our 6th rd Miguel Pena (LHP) and 9th rd Travis Shaw (3b) that 22407 posted)
  12. It looks like our 8th round pick (Senquez Golson) is not going to sign with us. He really wants to play CB at Ole Miss, and he isn't attending the draftee event at Fenway Park. He wanted a little over a million, but the highest amount the Sox ever paid an 8th round pick I believe was the $415,000 last year to Matt Price.
  13. On a side note, maybe I shouldn't have let WhiskeyBreath win the finals of our NBA redraft league, considering I had Dirk Nowitzki and Dwayne Wade on my team and he had LeBron James on his team.
  14. And CT should be a bit more Yankees. Not exactly cut down the middle, but about 1/3 Yankees (the left third) and the rest Red Sox. (Fractions referring to geographical proportions of the state, not population)
  15. lol but Mark Cuban would definitely pay for an ad in a Miami newspaper like that.
  16. And 3 NFL. Buccaneers, Dolphins, and Jaguars.

  18. I just can't believe that a Miami newspaper wrote an article congratulating the Heat on their NBA title and had "Miami Heat 2011 NBA Championship" T-shirts. They should probably be sent to Goodwill or a 3rd world country at this point, although they should come with a warning label that says "Warning: Choking Hazard"
  19. I would like to give a shoutout to Yahoo's Wesley Wright headshot. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/8157
  20. Nice, when I opened the thread though I was expecting to watch pitcher's get hit in the face with line drives.
  21. If you ask LeBron for a $1, he only gives you $.75 because he never gives you the 4th quarter. Why did LeBron fail out of college? He never showed up for the finals. LeBron should switch to hockey because they only expect you to play for 3 periods. Some of my favs.
  22. Yeah, 1.019 - .887 is about .132
