  1. While I agree, I don't really have sympathy for the players since football plays in much worse weather whereas lots of baseball games get canceled for less. We've had dozens of games postponed all across the MLB because of weather. I doubt a single one involved lightning/tornadoes/hurricanes etc.
  2. I'd say it's worth noting that Aceves main bad outing (contributing to his 6+ ERA) was in relief. His 2 starts this season were each 5IP, one allowing 3ER and one allowing 2ER.
  3. I can tell you from experience that's not the case. I'm just happy that people stopped trying and went with "Ital"
  4. It was back when MTV was doing music videos. I would have said Nickelback and Hanson but then you'd have to permaban me out of respect.
  5. I liked the song "Alive" when it came out. I remembered "Youth of the Nation" and hated it. I had no idea they did the song "Boom" which was pretty popular. Apparently they have some new music out. Along with other bands I used to listen to back in the day. (Third Eye Blind, Three Doors Down, YellowCard, Dashboard Confessional, Sum 41, NewFoundGlory etc) all with new albums out in the last few years, even though it's been a decade since they were last relevant.
  6. Good work team. Those last few KC games suck but it happens, we got our win. Hopefully Aceves can keep us in the game so our bullpen isn't blown out.
  7. I'm just surprised they couldn't get a baserunner off of Chavez.
  8. At least you have them you in shape bastard.
  9. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if I'd be more likely to change my username because it's a reference to a current Yankee player, or because it's a reference to a POD song. I was never a fan of them.
  10. You should watch Yankee games more often.
  11. I...love...baseball on TV shots of Gina Lee watching my team win..... and TWINS!!
  12. While I hate the statistic "QS" due to the fact that 6IP 3ER is supposedly better than 5 perfect innings...but if this is what we get out of Doubront each time I'd be happy. Especially with our offense.
  13. Air conditioning....facebook creeping on my friends sisters....and the Sox winning. These are a few of my favorite things.
  14. 107 I think and I'm just happy as hell he made it through the 6th considering how poor the 5th was.
  15. This is good, hopefully it can make up for Doubront's pitching. Hopefully we can sneak another inning out of him. (Short leash of course) Edit: Spelling
  16. I feel like there are some things that are just inexcusable. I mean I can understand if players truly suck, but to keep throwing balls like that should be an auto demotion if possible. There's no business in that. I'd rather Doubront or Miller slow pitch softball a ball to the plate at this point. I bet there are AAA and AA boys that can keep the ball in the zone. They might not keep it in the ballpark but they won't walk batters.
  17. All comments aside, didn't A-rod hit a ball off a pitcher's head so hard that the ball went into foul territory, which was ruled a ground rule double? I swear it's not just the weed. j/k
  18. Mayber Miller thinks it won't make him suck anymore.
  19. For what it's worth Brandon Moss was a throw-in in the Manny Ramirez/Jason Bay deal. He had also cleared waivers at least once and then left as a FA to sign a minor league deal with another team so I'm sure we could have had him if we wanted him. Not to mention Coco Crisp who netted us Ramon Ramirez who was ok for a bit. And the Reddick deal on paper looked better for the brief period Ryan Sweeney didn't totally suck. Same with Lowrie and the Melancon deal. It'd be nice if the pieces we got in return either kept up their success prior to our trade, or had the success they had once they left Boston.
  20. We lost a couple of games, hopefully we got some of that out of our systems. Let's take advantage of our good pitching/bullpen and actually score some runs.
  21. There's only one Andrew Miller. The earlier they learn to keep him off the team, the better.
  22. I wonder what lefties we can scrounge so we can excuse firing Miller.
  23. Yeah but the max amount of runs Papi can get back might not make up for the max amount of runs Miller can give up.
  24. Thank God this was quicker to find that I thought or I'd have wasted hours on this crap. Anyway, the "incident" is in the 4/15 vs. Tampa Bay thread. UserName: In all seriousness, Victorino can do a lot of things. He's looking like he could actually be the best signing of the off-season. (Post #81) MVP: No love for Uehara? Napoli has been good so far. (Post #84) Me: Napoli's been good thus far? His line coming into his 0/2 performance thus far was .217/.234/.413/.647. I don't know about his defense but even if it was gold glove caliber I don't think it'd salvage his current .208 average. (Post #87) MVP: 2hr and 10rbi in 11 games. He's not winning a batting crown. If he hits 30hr's and 120rbi with a 210 batting average (which is what he's currently projected to do) not sure there would be any big complaints. Also, big bats come alive once the warmer weather comes. He's shown enough so far to prove his worth. (Post #115) Then some time goes by. Napoli hits the walkoff double, and in a (typical?) snarky/sarcastic tone. You quoted me again and said. MVP: I was wrong. He stinks. My bad. (Post #245) Me: Good call. His magical 1/4 performance raised his average to .220. Plus he never would have had that opportunity if Bailey didn't just blow the save. Just because he helped here doesn't mean it makes you right before. (Post #257) MVP: Yeah, even though he sucks, he's still on pace for 120 RBI. My bad. What a horrible pickup there. (Post #258) So there it is. I believe what you think happened was between you and Username. But what happened between you and I was different. Now is it (finally) done?
  25. I feel like you are thinking of the wrong person, because the conversation I remember went something like you mentioning a bunch of players doing well. And me being like "Napoli's doing well? Since when?" And that convo starting just before Napoli started hitting those game winning hits. One of us (or perhaps both) are clearly wrong. I'm going to dig into this.
