  1. If I recall correctly, Hall is owed 8.5 million next year, but Milwaukee is paying 7.1 million of it. According to Ken Rosenthal this is a done deal.
  2. And he's also black, in case conspiracy theorists keep alleging Boston's racism. I'm not exactly a Bill Hall fan but I believe that he'll be of more use to us than Kotchman. That said, I'm surprised that we are trading Kotchman before Lowell, in terms of salary relief that is.
  3. I believe so, but if we move Lowell we'd move back under it, however I haven't calculated the exact figures yet.
  4. Here is an interesting data collection from Soxprospects. 5. Or WhEn LiTtLe GiRlS aNd KaNyE wEsT tYpE lIkE tHiS?
  6. I figured it'd get a post of the year comment from you but damn it. I'll have to try harder.
  7. Do I need to reference Spudboy's English thread? It's You're for god sakes. On that note, I think that Legend, CanadianSox and I should make a thread on proper English spelling rather than its cheap American substitute. We will have an SAP option for Dipre.
  8. That might be the one fight in which nobody intervened. You'd even fill Petco with that kind of attraction. You just don't break up fights like that.
  9. I agree on Gomes, but I would choose him only in the event that there'd be a fight between the Sox and Yankees. Granted, Gomes is no Kyle Farnsworth, but I'm sure he's itching to fight a couple of the Yankees, and if s*** ever did go down, Gomes would probably pay for himself. Although Gomes screams Willy Mo Pena to me.
  10. Boras went from 14 mil/year to 14 mil total. I'm glad we got Beltre and even happier at the price.
  11. Gammons: Beltre 1 yr. Deal for $9m with player option for $5m. Physical coming
  12. That would be a better way to word it, however I was also referring to money; as in "what amount".
  13. It depends on what we can get him for.
  14. God damn it. My teams are now 0-3 vs. Boston recently. I was counting on a Philly win to offset the Jags loss the other week.
  15. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Tommy-Kelly-loses-pants-wins-game?urn=nfl,210145
  16. I'm talking about who's more valuable for the money we are paying them. Kotchman is still in arbitration whereas Beltre is seeking upwards of 12-13 million AAV. I am confident that the majority see Kotchman as more valuable at roughly 3-4 million than Beltre at 12-13 million. I'm not sure what part of my point you misunderstood, but that's all I was trying to say. I am not saying that Kotchman would be more valuable for THE SAME MONEY, as Beltre, but for the money they are/expecting to receive.
  17. If money wasn't an issue, I'm sure that most people would prefer Beltre at third over Kotchman at first. However, money is obviously an issue, so it seems that given what Beltre wants, most people here believe that Kotchman is a better value for the money, and I agree. But in a vacuum I'd rather have Beltre, and I also think he and Boras will be severely dissappointed come payday.
  18. If we can get Beltre for single digit AAV then I'm for it. I believe this is in terms of run prevention/runs created. Youkilis (3b) 8.6 runs + Kotchman (1b) 4.4 runs = 13 runs Youkilis (1b) 6.5 runs + Beltre (3b) 13.9 runs = 20.4 runs
  19. No Chris Snee?
  20. Because Schaub is maybe a top 3. He's behind Manning and Rivers for sure, and he's maybe behind/ahead of Brady. That makes him "maybe" snubbed.
  21. You mean Polite the running back with 228 career rushing yards and 0 career running touchdowns?
