  1. Has Joba Chamberlain looked better recently?
  2. Expect another blockbuster trade in the next day or so.
  3. I hate online play. I'd rather play in person, and even then, I'm a nasty competitor. I should have a sign that says "Doesn't play well with others". You'd probably win, but I'm a sore loser, so I'd probably break a lot of stuff. I just really hate losing.
  4. That doesn't change anything, a perfect game is more important to me than one team's season. Either way, I believe in accuracy in both cases. I'm just saying that with the perfect game drama, I couldn't care less about the Min/Sea game. Besides, if Minnesota was a legitamite title contender in either season, your point would have slightly more poignancy.
  5. First of all, I think that's the worst quote in sports, but beyond that, this is history that we're dealing with. The likelihood of the one game having an effect on the playoffs of a 162 game season this year is minor, and even then, it feebles in comparison to something as historic as a perfect game. In all fairness, I think that the other call should be overturned as well, and that replay should have been used in the Min/Sea game as well. I'm just saying that the perfect game is BY FAR more important than the Min/Sea game. I only have so much care in me, and right now it's going to the perfect game, my girlfriend, a case of Sam Adam's Summer Ale, and MLB 2010 the show.
  6. Not even slightly.
  7. Also, 26, as negotiations heat up, we can facebook chat as it's much faster. I just realised that we were facebook friends.
  8. You should do the same
  9. Diony and I were/are working on one as well, although it'll take a while to work out.
  10. Interesting trade. I guess I get to use my first veto. Just kidding, the only trade I've ever vetoed involved Gom.
  11. And there isn't much travel/rest time which will hurt the Celtics.
  12. The only thing I don't disagree with here is your signature. You make it sound like overturning those other bad calls is a bad thing. Instant replay is great in the NFL and it has the potential to be great here. It just isn't being harnessed to its potential. I think that you need to go back and overturn a horrible call because it seds a great precendent. One of accuracy. You can't have games decided and history disturbed because of bad calls.
  13. When you give up 9 f***** runs to the f***** A's, then there are a lot of things that cost us the game.
  14. To be honest, I think this is an easier situation to reverse than most. For example, does anybody remember the CC Sabathia game against the Pirates a few years ago? There was a questionable call in the middle of the game as to whether or not Andy LaRoche got a base hit or reached on a Sabathia error. While I think that the play was clearly an error, it was ruled a base hit and that was the only hit of the game for the Pirates. Without that hit, Sabathia would have had a no-hitter. The Brewers got it reviewed, but not reversed. Unlike that situation, the evidence is clear that the batter is out. Even more important, this was the very last out. So if the call was correct, then you can guarantee a perfect game, whereas in Sabathia's case, who knows how the rest of the game would have panned out if the call was an error. In this case, Galarraga pitched with the same pressure of a perfect game, and if the call was made correctly, then the game is over and it's a perfect game. It seems like it could actually be a perfect game. I won't get my hopes up that Selig would do the right thing, but it's now or never here.
  15. At least it won't be a sweep.
  16. He is my favourite player. My favourite video game was Major League Baseball with Ken Griffey Jr. on Nintendo 64. Baseball won't be the same without him.
  17. Again, I'm talking about protesting a play, not protesting a game. This doesn't apply.
  18. I meant that calls can be protested/changed after the game. I haven't seen it done with a no-hitter/perfect game, but I've seen it done all the time with hits vs. errors and that's much more subjective than safe vs. out.
  19. And, don't forget, if the call was correct and it was a perfect game against the Guardians, we all could totally rip on Suns for a long time.
  20. I don't care about the Guardians or Tigers, I just care about accuracy. And accuracy and history were dealt a severe blow today.
