  1. This from the mental midget... take it for what it's worth (absolutely nada)
  2. Out of the four guys you listed (aside from Brentz and Kalish), the only one I ever want to see manning CF is Victorino. Gomes in CF makes me want to hurl just thinking about it. Same for Carp really. Nava isn't horrible, but he's not a CF by any means. Free agency isn't a horrible move to replace Ells should he leave, but it's a crap shoot and a lot of money will be involved. Not saying I think JBJ should be off-limits, just that there's other considerations in play if we deal him.
  3. False alarm? Seems nothing doing with JBJ being pulled early.
  4. well... JBJ isn't in a Peavy deal so that's a relief.
  5. That's assuming Ells decides to re-sign with the Sox and not someplace else in the off-season. With Boras running his show, I doubt it happens before he tests the water in free agency. Then we're stuck with Victorino in CF or we make another move to shore it up. That's why JBJ in a trade is tough to swallow.
  6. Yep. If we're going all in to get Lee, I'd rather lose JBJ than Bogaerts that's for sure. Still... talented CFs don't exactly grow on trees and JBJ has it in him to be a stud for a long time down the road.
  7. s***... not the guy I want to see traded. Realize you have to give up talent to get talent, but still think he's a guy that could be huge going forward. Hate the idea of giving him up.
  8. I agree. Hoping he can keep it going, but I'm reserving judgment until September. If he can throw quality starts when its on the line in a pennant race, I think he'll be around for the long haul.
  9. Ells!!! Nice!! Should be 4-1... I'll take it though.
  10. WTF Iggy... seriously
  11. Much better... keep the runs coming!
  12. Damn it... 1-0 Seattle
  13. Not the start I would prefer to see. Workman needs to bear down and get out of this without damage
  14. I agree with you on the favor part. Young would be helpful, but his inclusion in a Lee deal wouldn't make me want to give up any additional talent. Lee alone will take some serious prospects away from our farm and I'm not completely sold on that idea just yet.
  15. Possibly two deals working with Phillies... one with Lee AND Young, and the other just involving Lee. Have to think a deal with both would be astronomical in talent headed south to Philadelphia. Not sure if I'd be up for that... https://twitter.com/ALLsportsINTEL/status/362332538536071170
  16. Seems Young isn't only focused on Texas as a destination... he could still be in play for the Sox
  17. Yep... No idea why he pinch ran in that situation. Farrell's a bigger retard for putting him in instead of Iggy. f*** the double switch later... go for the run to tie now. Then worry about switching defensively. Can't win unless they score that run and Iggy would've scored easily on the double and even easier on the fly to left.
  18. Haha Hell... saying it's f***ing retarded is pretty polite in my book.
  19. The question is whether a deal like that gets it done, even if the Sox offer to take on all the money. I'd say no. Philly isn't exactly strapped for cash and aren't motivated to move Lee for monetary concerns. They want to rebuild quickly with top shelf talent and trading away Lee now is the easiest way to do that. I'd say that a deal would almost have to include Barnes to get done, as he projects as a top line starter down the road, and then have WMB and Ranaudo behind him. Not saying I necessarily like that deal, but that seems to be the minimum I can see Philly accepting.
  20. Yep. He'd have to be a PTBNL to be included I think.
  21. If the Phillies are even discussing the no-trade waiver with Lee, I'd say a deal is reasonably close. Not done by any means, but close enough that it warrants a convo with Lee to be sure before moving forward.
  22. I agree. The Phillies obviously want top talent back in return to justify trading away their ace, but at the same time they can't expect the Sox to eat a ton of money along with giving up their future in prospects. It's one or the other really. And for my money, I think the Sox would be wise to take on salary in exchange for a more reasonable prospect package going back to Philly. WMB and Renaudo would be the start of a package for me. Webster would be ok too. Maybe Barnes if it came to it, but JBJ, Bogey, and Owens should be off-limits IMO.
  23. Young and Lee? There would have to be a ridiculous haul going back to Philly to get a deal like that done. Any trade that involves Bogaerts is a non-starter for me. He would seemingly have to be in play to get both Young and Lee in return and Benny should hang up the phone and roll with what we've got if that's the case.
