  1. It’s the only way to take down big sugar.
  2. Matt Barnes in for the Marlins: K K HR BB Popout
  3. @ShellyV_643 I love Edward Cabrera's stuff but it is hilarious that he didn't throw a changeup in the zone this afternoon... and got zero whiffs on his four-seam... and still had 4Ks...with 7BBs...
  4. WOO doing a doubleheader tonight to make up for the "rainout" earlier. Murphy and Mata are starting.
  5. Final line: 2.2 Innings, 7 bb, 4 k, 0 H 2 ER. Marlins were looking to deal him this offseason for Casas.
  6. Edward Cabrera has thrown 6 walks in 2 Innings!
  7. @tylermilliken_ There was lots of talk about the pitch clock possibly hurting Kenley Jansen, but it looks like it’s done the complete opposite. AVG Velo from 2022 -> 2023: Sinker -93.6 MPH -> 95.9 MPH Cutter - 92.2 MPH -> 95 MPH Slider - 81.2 MPH -> 83.5 MPH Don’t see that too often at 35. He's been good so far. Lots of Braves fans were saying that we'd regret the signing, but I would have been even been ok with a diminished Kenley Jansen.
  8. The 3-4 Marlins are playing the 3-4 Mets right now! Luis Arraez has been mashing early this season.
  9. I'd put Romero at 2025. Anthony should be late 2025. If Hamilton is really mid-24, he shouldn't have been protected. Meidroth may be the next guy that moves quicker than expected through the system.
  10. It's the combination of everything.
  11. https://twitter.com/tylermilliken_/status/1644138180893896704 Miguel Bleis defensive highlight from last night.
  12. Did some research. Last season, he lead his league in whiff %. Drohan added a cutter this offseason. He came to ST and also added 1-2 mph onto his FB. He's pitching his first start of the season today for POR.
  13. His contract is written with the opposite language of Alfaro's. He has a downward mobility clause. He can only be sent down to AAA if acquired by another team and demoted.
  14. I think I'd kick Crawford to AAA first. That's just me.
  15. @jcmccaffrey “When I have small thoughts, big results happen. When I have big results in my mind, nothing happens. I like leading off. It’s been a lot of fun and overall I’m just trying to run hard, run faster, steal more bases.” He had 1 stolen base last season. He can probably double that!
  16. Houck vs Wentz
  17. Yup. May 1 is too early to waive the white flag IMO. Memorial Day gives you a much better idea of where you are at.
  18. The health is the important part. He should be mowing down AA hitters.
  19. Meidroth just flat out hits. It'll be interesting to see how far up the ladder his tool set can take him. It may flatten out at some point, but IDK. I'm not going to put too much stock in the results of the start for Whitlock, but I'm happy that he's healthy and is ready to join the rotation next week. Bello watch is on. This is what SoxProspects wrote prior to last night's Perales start: @SoxProspects RHP Luis Perales gets the Opening Day start for the @SalemRedSox today. The 19-year-old has the ceiling of a number 2 starter. High-ceiling and low-floor. Has shown among the best raw stuff of any arm in the system. Identified as the top pitching prospect in the FCL in 2022. Don't blame Rosario's CERA!
  20. I think their ETA's on top prospects are generally conservative. We saw how quickly Devers rushed through the system. He beat their timeline.
  21. SoxProspects have their opinion, I have mine.
  22. I was saying if they had to squeeze someone else onto the roster and DFA someone, I’d dump Ort first.
  23. Kelly has yet to have a clean outing. He hasn't looked great from what I've seen. He has options so it's not a DFA issue. If it was a DFA question, I probably dump Ort first.
  24. Makes sense to me. Cora has always stated that he wanted better relievers to be available earlier in the game when needed.
  25. Strike % today Martin 73 Jansen 69 Sale 62 Schreiber 59 Brasier 57 Brasier was kept around because he didn't walk anyone and threw strikes?
