  1. He had surgery on that same wrist last season. I would ASSume that fracturing that wrist this season may further impact him after he comes back off the IL.
  2. Kluber pitched better on Opening Day than Sale did on Day 2.
  3. Which ones? Casas hasn't really hit enough to earn an extension. Bello hasn't performed long enough. Whitlock may not be a starter, but got his extension.
  4. They sneakily gave him a 2 year extension this offseason too.
  5. I think Bloom knew he was above the threshold, but wasn't allowed to get back under. That's just my ASSumption though.
  6. I'm lucky enough to be paying double this year for MLB.tv, so I get to complain twice as much.
  7. David Hamilton started off HOT last season too. I'm not going to hold my breath on him. Yorke: 526/385/911 (55 BB, 1 K, 1 2B, 5 TB) I'm not going to get excited just yet either. On the flip side, I'm also not going to be worried about a 353 OPS for Valdez on 4/12. It's just too early.
  8. Realistic vs need? Realistically they need Sale to turn his season around and start pitching well. Tonight would be a good time to start. Tomorrow would be a good time to increase Springs' ERA too.
  9. And Dalbec went 1 for 1 with a BB. Did his job vs LHP. Everyone else?
  10. He needs more time to develop as a starter, but it may be a little rough early on this season. There will be growing pains. Maybe things round into form for everyone and we can get SOCKtober?
  11. In fact, it was a huge mismatch.
  12. The ideal position for him is clearly 2B, but right now he's all we have on the horizon for SS.
  13. He shouldn't go very deep into the game. Sox need to take the next two.
  14. Dalbec has a history of hitting LHP well. This is his shot. Maybe his last one here. In 2023 at WOO vs LHP: 1371 OPS. Only 1 K in 5 AB's. He does see the ball better vs LHP. Need to sit him if a RHP comes in though.
  15. Just go over the CBT. Why put forth another middling team?
  16. Some stop gaps do the job!
  17. I didn't post a 10 game sample for Refsnyder, I posted his entire defensive DRS for OF from 2022. That's what I posted for Tapia too. All I posted was that if Duran could hit better that he'd start CF over Refsnyder. Tapia isn't a career 1.357whatever OPS guy. Refsnyder and Tapia are bench guys AT BEST. Duran has a starting profile if he put it together at the plate.
  18. K. Hernández SS, Devers 3B, Turner DH, Yoshida LF, Refsnyder CF, Verdugo RF, Arroyo 2B, Dalbec 1B, Wong C
  19. Whitlock as a starter would be the better comparison. 4.15/3.60/1.26
  20. I was just using 2022 stats, because those are the most relevant. Tapia has only played 449 Innings in CF, but over 2,500 Innings in LF BECAUSE HE'S NOT A VERY GOOD CFER.
  21. His velo is up. More movement on his slider early on. He's not leaving his offspeed stuff over the plate. His curve is what got hammered last season and he's keeping it down and getting more whiffs on it so far this year. Plus, all the four leaf clovers he's put in his pockets.
  22. -14 DRS over 2 years in 630 Innings in CF. Refsnyder -2 in 115 Innings in CF, comes out to -11 DRS in 630 Innings. Yeah, if Duran could hit, he'd start of Refsnyder in CF.
  23. Pivetta has pitched well, but... ERA 0.90 xERA 8.02 FIP 5.10 BABIP 174 LOB% 97.6
  24. Ref 2022: -5 DRS, -2 OAA Tapia 2022: -4 DRS, -4 OAA If Duran could hit, he'd be the starting CFer.
