  1. More of a reason for them to be sellers than holders.
  2. Have you been happy with the previous offseasons from this regime?
  3. ^^^ He's not the guy to keep around if you're dumping Mookie...
  4. Flip phones are coming back...
  5. Farm system rankings can be fickle. Yanks went from 8th two years ago to 25th this year. Angels haven't been good for a long time, but money talks.
  6. Scott is interesting because he hasn't caught for very long and is still learning. He's better defensively than Nathan Hickey who's been behind the dish forever. I do like Abreu too.
  7. If he does come back to the org it will be Song 2.
  8. No, it's possibly the Lemon Song.
  9. They currently have 0 CG's. The last season they didn't have any CG's was 2020, which is surprising because that rotation was awesome.
  10. WOO won the game because of this play and I love the spiked ball by Stephen Scott. Rafaela went 1 for 1 with a HR, SB, 1 OF assist and 4 BB's Scott went 2 for 5 with a HR, 3 RBI and 1 spiked baseball Abreu went 3 for 5 with 2 RBI, SB and 2 OF assists Three golden stars right there...
  11. Abreu throws out the tying run at home in the 8th inning.
  12. No, Tayler Scott is 31 (6/1/92). Noah Song is 5 years younger (5/28/97). https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/s/scottta02.shtml
  13. @SoxProspects Alex Hoppe with a strikeout in a 1-2-3 eighth inning in his Double-A debut.
  14. Also, it's probably that damned CERA's fault again...
  15. If they can re-sign him, it's not the end of the world. If they lose him AND miss the playoffs, it's not great...
  16. Yeah, it's rough! I just think there's a chance one of those teams sees that they only have to hold onto him for 90 days on the active roster to keep him around for a few years. Could be worth a risk at this point. You get a full offseason to work with him. Can put him in AA next season to stretch him back out into a starter if you want. OAK currently has Tayler Scott in their pen. I'm sure they could dump him and just put Song in that wasted spot.
  17. Lorenzen really has been a reliever for most of his career. I didn't want to send much for that guy. Civale's xFIP is 2 runs higher than his ERA. Flaherty really took a step back this year. Those guys could help you down the stretch, but they aren't going to carry your staff or win you a playoff series. Very 2013 Jake Peavyish, if you're projecting what they could bring to your rotation.
  18. Turner was quoted as saying the only time the Dodgers won a WS was the deadline when they didn't make any moves. Verdugo said he played more relaxed after the deadline. Really hard to say definitively how they will play here on out. Last year, it was a total tank job. Maybe this year will be different as it seems to be a different vibe in the clubhouse.
  19. After walking his first 3 AB's, Rafaela hits his 8th HR in the 4th AB this afternoon. Fun!
  20. When I say "Bloom" it's shorthand for "the Front Office." It always has been and always will be. You know this. You're just being stubborn because you've been miserable all year.
  21. "Understanding that we're underdogs this year right now where we are in the playoff odds, we just tried to stay true to that." I think he sees them as being on the outside looking in and not wanting to waste prospects on a lost year.
  22. How he was perceived by fans. I think trading Mookie really shook up the fanbase in their beliefs of ownership and the direction of this franchise. Mookie fWAR 2020 2.8 2021 3.9 (his "injured/down" year) 2022 6.5 2023 4.7 (6.6 projected) Seems like this team could have still used him in the lineup.
  23. Yeah, even I'm not foolish enough to make predictions about what Bloom will do at the trade deadline. I may suggest what I would do, but I have no idea what he would do. 21: nobody expected Schwarber 22: nobody expected him to trade Vaz and then sit on the rest of the expiring contracts and then go over the CBT like a f***ing idiot
  24. The opinion on Henry changed the day Mookie was traded. It has more to do with that than the wins and losses IMO.
