They had the bones of a good to great rotation: Lester, Lacket, Beckett, Buchholz They added some good role players in the offseason that took on outsized importance: Napoli, Gomes, Victorino, Drew Don't think Sox can accomplish #1.

Trout hits WHEN he's in the lineup. Why pay 30M for a guy that's at home though?

How come Kluber can pitch 164 innings after a MAJOR INJURY, but Wacha can't in a normal year?

I'd rather roll out a rookie than Verdugo. We already have seen Verdugo's 2 fWAR ceiling and his lack of fit in this clubhouse.

Prospects that are RHB: Bleis Yoeillin Yorke Blaze Allan Castro - switch Johanfran Garcia Coffey Campbell Anderson Zanetello Meidroth Riemer Bonaci - switch While some of the top prospects (Teel, Mayer and Anthony) are LHB, a lot of the bats are RHB. I think it's fun to dream on Trout, but he's guaranteed to miss 80 games each year at this point with a huge contract.

Verdugo is getting his ass traded. 635 OPS since the ASB. He can go be miserable somewhere else.

Duran doesn't have the arm for RF. His range is pretty s***** too. He'd be awful at Fenway.

Just give him one more year please. Most other Japanese players needed a year to acclimate too (see: Matsui, Suzuki).

Duran LF Rafaela CF Abreu RF Is so much better than what they threw out there this year. Then putting Story at SS? That's fixing a s*** ton of problems already.

It seemed obvious to me and the people I was watching the game with that he was done after 7. We were shocked when he came out again.

That ignores Jeter hammering that ball to right, Bernie hitting a liner up the middle and Matsui smoking that ball down the RF line. That was 3 straight hard hit balls before Posada came up.

I suggested that Ref could be traded as well. Cheap contract. May not fit the Sox needs perfectly right now.

I'd keep Chris Sale for a year and put the 25M towards Burnes.

My logic is that I don't believe this ownership will bring in a better MLB 3b from outside the organization. They may move him off the position at some point, but I don't believe it will be in 2024.
