My concern is that it's a waste of a bullpen arm if the reliever can't throw again between the appearance. Also, only going through 9 batters each maybe gets you into the 5th innning most days. That's just not good enough.

We can be thankful they didn't get their number 1 priority Jose Abreu (531 OPS).

It's not my fault that you fell into the Dombrowski farm builder comment trope. I think those players are good. I think the Sox development system isn't a dumpster fire like some people believe. Also, don't expect arms to come through the system anytime soon if you look at how Bloom has amassed talent. It's a hitters first org.

It's easy to fall into 1970's scout brain. It's just the terminology that has been around the game for a long time.

Players that have been in the system longer are more likely to be in MLB. Soon, there will be no more DD guys left to promote.

There's a difference between taking pitches to just take pitches and being selective. His bb rate is still low and he's making worse contact than last year.

I think it would depend on who was available. Sandy Alcantara? Zac Gallen? Is it worth emptying the farm? Giolito is probably available and wouldn't empty the farm. (Yorke, Walter, Lugo) He'd be a big upgrade over Kluber.
