  1. Guys that could play in 2025: Valdez, Hamilton, Yorke, Meidroth, Bonaci (late 25)
  2. He has a guaranteed contract through 2027. I can reasonably assume that they'd have somebody who could play 2b at a cheaper price by 2025. Are they just going to eat 3 years of that contract? He can't play 3B. Move him to the OF? Yoshida seems like the best bet to just DH. Hope for a bounce back season next year and deal him?
  3. And if Yorke is ready and can play an average 2b what are they going to do with Story? I agree that the Story pickup seemed like a "hey, this guy's price tag is below market, let's grab him on clearance" and they didn't consider the downstream effects.
  4. When Mayer is ready, he's not playing SS anymore anyway.
  5. There's always slices of blame pie to be handed out. Henry and Bloom can have their fair share this season.
  6. Story can hit, is a draw for the Trevor market and can field 2b rather well which should age ok.
  7. xFIP SP 3.73 RP 3.06
  8. Sox get blown out, so everyone needs to be in a sour mood I guess!
  9. Because they are a .500 team? This team looked much worse during the 90's. They were a mess.
  10. No, he doesn't actually read the responses. He just comes on here to drop a troll post and leave.
  11. One bad start and it's now "looks more and more like he should have stayed in the pen." Yeah, okay.... I'm fine with his peripherals.
  12. Romero is playing this year. You're just not paying attention. International signings are a "risk"? This makes zero sense. The only risk is the money spent which is virtually nothing.
  13. If "that's their system" then their system doesn't have enough pitching depth!!!
  14. Yes, we can keep going back to the WELL THEY DID GET WHITLOCK well over and over, but aside from that Bloom really hasn't received much MiLB pitching talent that wasn't drafted or IFA acquired and that takes a long time to come through the system.
  15. The trades have mostly gone towards MiLB hitter depth rather than pitching depth.
  16. Dalbec optioned. Verdugo back.
  17. "I'll f***in do it again" Goofy at his trial
  18. Chris Flexen DFA'd by Mariners. Not saying I would... but...
  19. There is still some good left in the world... @StoolBaseball Alek Manoah in his first start in the Florida Complex League: 2.2 IP 10 H 11 ER 2 BB 3 K 2 HR
  20. I haven't seen the plan to add to the quantity. I've seen the quality get better though.
  21. They'll be just close enough to be in shouting distance of the third WC!
  22. I just don't know if the quantity is there for it all to work out. There are some interesting guys, but injuries and ineffectiveness are sure to creep in. Need more numbers to improve their chances.
  23. His velo was way down. He gave up a career high HR/9. xISO of 54th percentile was down 30 percentile points from the prior year. Career high Hard Hit % (largely because of the 4 seamer 50.9%). The Run Values on his slider and FB went from -17 and -19 in 2018 to 0 and -1 in 2019.
  24. LOL. Maybe even more mediocre than last year's!
