  1. It's fine. Your list is your list and not mine. I just don't like Dobbins' profile as he currently can't command anything. Paulino is already a platoon UTIL guy in A ball who had a lackluster '23. Yuck.
  2. And those AA numbers are great for Walter, but it's just a 9 game sample. If he was sent back to AA this year, I bet he couldn't repeat that performance from '22.
  3. Yup, they sometimes jump a little too high on SSS pitchers that are dominating at lower levels like Drohan and Walter. It's fun to jump on a bandwagon. With Drohan, I remembered what happened to Walter so I wanted to see him do it at AAA at least. It's a little weird because I do remember them talking down players like Denyi Reyes (back in 2018: 1.97 ERA, 155 IP, High A) for being pitchability guys, but they seemed to forget that when they jumped on the Walter train for whatever reason.
  4. For me, I wouldn't include Dobbins or Paulino. I just don't like their profiles at all. I'd put Drohan instead of Dobbins or Paez if Drohan is picked in Rule 5. (The projected Greenville Drive rotation is interesting: Perales, Monegro, ERC, Rogers, Duffy, Paez.) Instead of Paulino, I'd go with either Campbell or Yuten to back up OF (not counting Abreu).
  5. Don't really know much about Anderson and he didn't play all that well in the fall to show that he's going to move anywhere fast. Cespedes may move up the rankings quickly, but I don't think he's going to be strapped to a rocket. He'll probably start in FCL this year and maybe finish the year in Salem. Even Bleis didn't reach Salem until his second season stateside. With that push, we wouldn't see him in AA until the end of '25 and MLB at the end of '26.
  6. Walter was a pitchability guy who peaked in AA then got hurt. He needs to be near perfect for his stuff to play up in MLB. Wikelman and Monegro have better stuff and haven't really reached their full potential yet. I'm not sure either is a starter in MLB, but I think they both have higher ceilings than Walter ever did.
  7. @BeyondtheMnstr Free agent pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto reportedly wants to play on an MLB team with other Japanese players, per @Yahoo_JAPAN_PR Thank you, Chaim.
  8. My only recommendation is to go to the Liberty Tree Tavern and have the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake.
  9. Haven't had a left handed throwing SS since 1987.
  10. Hanley made 72 errors from 06-08 at SS. He had a career -74 DRS, -8 UZR/150. He was NOT a good SS and probably never should have played there to begin with.
  11. I think people are just creatures of habit. Once you take someone out of their routine, they won't be as good as what they normally do.
  12. We will schedule the awards banquet once A700 actually figures out which one of us is his former troll Dutchy. Of course join date is more important, but post count can somewhat make up the difference.
  13. There are only a few stats that truly matter like post count and join date.
  14. Bigger hair. Bigger shoes (for walking on snow). Bigger reams of denim fabric.
  15. It depends on if you like DRS or OAA. Aside from '22, he's been good via DRS. I'd just throw him at 2B and keep Story at SS.
  16. Well, since Jack Morris is a HOFer and really pitched well when it mattered, I do hope that a lot of BBWA guys take that into consideration and give first year candidate BIG GAME JAMES SHIELDS a long hard look when they are filling out their ballots this year!
  17. Jays are looking to deal Bichette to the Cubs. Why not us? Bichette for Duran Yorke Whitlock or Winckowski
  18. On the 19th ranked prospect: @Blaze_j24 Weighed in at 210.7 lbs today, down 15.3 lbs since last game of season Closer and closer to my goal to start spring new me
  19. Anthony Mayer Teel Rafaela Bleis Yorke Perales Abreu Wikelman Cespedes Zanetello Meidroth Castro Johanfran Drohan Hickey Paulino Romero Jordan Monegro
  20. He didn't have a big lead in '91 when he threw a 10 inning SHO and still pitched to contact. It's just in that game, the contact he gave up was different than the contact he gave up in '92. Small Sample Size Variance! We remember his great performance in '91. We hide the horrible performance in '92, but he was the same pitcher. Overall, he was a very good pitcher. He was a 3.90 ERA pitcher. Some days his contact he gave up wouldn't be a big deal, some days it would be. Overall, it would lead to a 3.90 ERA. It's a complete MYTH that he would give up more runs in games where he had leads and less runs in games that were closer. Two of his best all time Postseason performances were in games where his team scored 8 and 9 runs. Shouldn't he have let off the gas a little and given up 4 runs then rather than given up 4 runs when his team had only scored 5? It makes no damn sense.
  21. Not sure why you're picking on Bell here since I woke up this morning and several posters were still talking about this.
  22. I think the Jays were glad he pitched so much to contact in the '92 playoffs that he went 0-3 and was pulled in the 4th inning in his other start. Grape job Jack!
  23. Sure, Jack Morris was good in the '84 and '91 Postseasons. He also sucked in the '87 and '92 Postseasons where he either lost all of his starts or was lifted in the 4th inning after giving up 5 runs. Overall, he had a 3.80 ERA in the Postseason, which is close to his career 3.90 ERA. Saying he knew when to turn it on just doesn't ring true to me when you look at the full picture.
  24. They are going with a 2015 Red Sox 5 aces rotation. Print up the damn shirts now!
