  1. Aside from the Renfroe trade, he’s been ok at trades. He just needs to be more aggressive.
  2. Some of us wanted Suzuki back then.
  3. Changes his ceiling to Jed Lowrie.
  4. It's far easier to fill a hole at 1B than it is at the top of your rotation.
  5. He's wrong about the K rate though (it's about 25%).
  6. Duran isn't bringing back the same type of pitcher. Verdugo only has one year of control. If you trade Duran, you're getting a #3.
  7. You can't get ace pitching without giving up something of value. The only other way to do it would be to overpay with prospects. Right now, teams want MLB ready talent in trades, not guys in A ball.
  8. Romero is probably downgraded because he's out due to injury AGAIN.
  9. Nobody mentioned Guerrero's first WOO appearance last night: 1 Inn, 2 K, 0.00 WHIP.
  10. Graduates Nick Robertson graduated Debuts Zack Penrod debuts at 49 Risers Yoelin Cespedes up from 15 to 10 Wilyer Abreu up from 23 to 12 Corey Rosier up from 56 to 44 Brock Bell from unranked to 50 Felix Cepeda from unranked to 54 Fallers Mike Romero from 10 to 18 Bryan Mata from 21 to 27 Cutter Coffey from 30 to 37 Freili Encarnacion from 49 to 56 Phillip Sikes from 46 to 57 Niko Kavadas from 42 to unranked Christian Koss from 50 to unranked CJ Liu from 51 to unranked I was honestly surprised that they were so low on Abreu for a long time. He had MLB attributes and was in AAA. Not sure I'd drop Kavadas and Liu all the way to UR either.
  11. They just have no problem blowing out every pitcher's arm to get them to pitch at 100% of their capacity. It's good for the team, but not really good for the player.
  12. The problem is that if you mention trading someone on here, people automatically assume you are DUMPING the player. With the right GM, you could trade any player on your roster and get the right return for the ballclub. Some people just don't trust Bloom to do the job and assume that any trade would mean Sox would lose value and get depantsed.
  13. Probably normal for most fanbases. Detroit probably isn't happy that they dealt Isaac Paredes to the Rays. Houston probably is wondering how they couldn't get more out of Jose Siri. Are Philly fans kicking themselves for letting Eflin walk out the door after so many years of just being ok?
  14. Sox had Schreiber for a year before he developed. TB can turn a guy around in a few weeks. I'm not going to get worked up over a SSS with Llovera (especially with a 4.75 xFIP, a high BB rate and unimpressive K rate).
  15. It would be silly to change the GM AFTER the season. If they are going to make a switch, they need to do it now and not let it impact what they have to get done this offseason unless they are just going to hand the reigns to BOH.
  16. Nobody is untradeable. If he could bring back an ace, why not think about it?
  17. Dalbec 2021: Apr 619 May 672 June 780 July 541 Aug 1205 Sep 928 Casas 2023: Apr 576 May 766 Jun 851 July 1199 Aug 912 Sep 1075 Dalbec had two great months and only 3 months above 750 OPS. Casas has been great since 7/1 and five straight months above 750 OPS. Hard to compare the two seasons except that they both had bad Aprils.
  18. TalkSox should be posting their updated rankings today.
  19. It's better for him and for the Sox if he can play 1b though.
  20. Why wasn't Littell good with MIN? Why wasn't Littell good with SF? Maybe it's just that TB is better at developing pitching and then burning out a pitcher's arm than other orgs?
  21. Agreed. Those were some suspect contracts. I would have taken Vaz back, but not at the contract he signed.
  22. He's been a top 10 offensive talent since May 1, 9th in SLG, 8th in OBP. It was really one bad month. If he can fix his defensive shortcomings, he'll be a monster.
  23. I don't think they stashed Hamilton because they believed he could play SS. They stashed him because they weren't sure how the 2023 changes would impact the game and didn't want to give up on the only true base stealer in the org.
  24. The only issue was that Bloom took a few too many chances last offseason and got bit by most of them.
