  1. I believe Duran has considerable trade value as does Yorke (due to proximity to MLB). Perales is a bigger unknown as he's further away. Cease can come in and be a #2 at least for a few years. I'm not sure Perales gets there. He's probably a #4 or bullpen piece, but has a chance at being better. It is an overpay, but I'm not saying I wouldn't overpay to fix this s***** rotation especially as names are taken off the FA market (if that makes sense).
  2. First offseason with a GM who has never been GM before. We are again in uncharted territory. FULL THROTTLE.
  3. Severino hasn't been relevant since '18. Montas has been better much more recently.
  4. It's an overpay of a trade IMO.
  5. Eloy is never gonna get to 162 games unless you're counting multiple seasons.
  6. Montas was back to throwing 95-96 when he pitched in AAA in September after coming back.
  7. I'd be much more interested if the Sox added Montas as the #5. ERod Stroman Bello Sale Montas I can talk myself into that rotation for sure. Winning a WS? IDK. I agree that they probably need some sort of ace.
  8. Bailey worked with Llovera in SF, so Crag will have a good idea what to do with him soon.
  9. 10 starts if he's in the opening day pen. 20+ if he's in the rotation on opening day.
  10. Instead of Yamamoto, they sign ERod and Stroman? They are basically signing two mid to upper rotation guys? It's good. I don't believe it's a WS rotation at all. If that's the goal, they aren't getting there this year.
  11. They've said in the past that it has been a factor, but it's not supposed to be a factor this offseason. If it is a factor, why the duplicity?
  12. I ignored Bauer and Clevinger, but not because of their baseball talent.
  13. Stroman or ERod AND Turnbull, or all three?
  14. The Sox have enough #5's. No more room at the inn.
  15. McGuire has never played a position other than C.
  16. I'd rather take that energy and use it with a new IF coach at 3b.
  17. If it's Yamamoto and Turnbull is the 5th starter, fine.
  18. They had a decent pen last year and a horrible rotation. They need to make the rotation not horrible.
  19. IMO: Tier 2 - Stroman, Imanaga, ERod, Wacha, Montas, Giolito Tier 3 - Paxton, Ryu, Lugo, Lorenzen, Manaea Tier 4 - YRod, Flaherty, Severino, Turnbull, Miley
  20. Only more so than Turnbull.
  21. The Red Sox are not a Kia Soul. They said as much this offseason. Their goal is a WS. If they only sign a 4th and 5th starter, they have FAILED.
  22. If they add Duvall, they can ask him to find his old 1B mitt from the Reds days.
  23. I don't see them adding Blaze anytime soon since he take a long time to adjust to new levels and hasn't OPS'd 700 in AA yet. The callup would be Kavadas or Scott IMO.
  24. No, my assumption was Weiss and Llovera were automatically DFA'd per post 1929.
  25. They said FULL THROTTLE.
