  1. I just like him so much better out of the pen.
  2. I think Sale is the 4th/5th starter. He's going to be on the roster unless he's on the IL or retires. The only good thing is that I'm fine with mixing and matching the 4th an 5th starters of Pivetta/Crawford/Gambrell/Houck as needed. I just don't want those guys to be relied on as mid rotation or better. At some point, Wikelman Gonzalez could be up and competing for the back of the rotation in 2024 which would make it look more like: Yamamoto (yeah right) Bello Montgomery Wikelman Crawford/Sale If that's the rotation heading down the stretch, the Sox would look much better than they have in a long while.
  3. Jordan has a 677 OPS in AA, but is still only 20. There's time for him to turn it around, but the worry is that he is going to max out at an MiLB level with his long swing. His light tower power also really has shown itself yet and he's basically 1B only going forward.
  4. 68k's is amazing in this day and age in MLB. That is "doesn't strike out."
  5. My assessment is still fair. I said "about 20 HR" and "doesn't strike out." That's more of a projection than you'll ever do.
  6. 95th percentile in K rate. Whiff 89th percentile. He has elite bat to ball skills.
  7. I guess if the only measure of playing well is k/bb...
  8. No, he is definitely not.
  9. They'll get there. Just wait. Sox drafted some High School guys that will take a few extra years to reach the majors (Mayer, Yorke, etc.). There could be a real dramatic influx of talent considering all the big named prospects at AA and above right now.
  10. BB% by month: Apr 11.8 May 7.6 Jun 6.9 Jul 2.2 Aug 3.1 Sep 3.1 OBP Apr 373 May 410 Jun 333 Jul 344 Aug 281 Sep 281 OPS Apr 832 May 962 Jun 742 Jul 844 Aug 640 Sep 765 He had a very bad August. He's making hard contact, which is why his July OPS was still in the 800's even though his BB rate was down.
  11. https://www.overthemonster.com/2023/9/7/23862858/masataka-yoshida-will-be-fine-i-think-red-sox-analysis Don't know if this was posted before. It basically says that Yoshida's issue right now is that he's chasing offspeed pitches. Considering the type of hitter that he is, he should be able to turn it around. Again, he shouldn't be a a fulltime LF. Maybe a greater workload at DH would save him next season? Acclimating to MLB was going to be hard and I didn't expect this to be his best year. He should be better next year. The question is how much better can he actually be?
  12. While ignoring all the other things around those handpicked years. Got it.
  13. He and Blaze are Rule 5 eligible in 2024 though! Time to panic!
  14. He's spent a lot of time at 2b at an appropriate level for him: AA.
  15. That recipe calls for coconut milk. I've heard that your milk often has mice in it. Does your coconut milk have mice too?
  16. So harmless that he got thrown off the Patriots beat for some ********, but is still working in this town.
  17. We love those!
  18. Teel is a college hitter with a great presence behind the plate. He was going to start in AA next season, so may as well call him up for a few weeks at the end of the year.
  19. Nick Yorke is 21. I don't know what the "common sense says that he should have been given a look by now" when he was battling injuries all last year, has never taken a swing in AAA and still only has a 806 OPS in AA. He's not exactly lighting it up down there the way Beni and Devers were. He'll be in AAA next season. Maybe he gets called up at some point at the end of the year. What's the rush? Wong is fine, but I don't think he really has a ton of trade value. Per BTV, he's only marginally more valuable than Luis Urias.
  20. He was only healthy for 4 of those 7 years. He played under 100 games for the other 3. With 510 PA's, he's missing 20% of every season. Is that good? Right after your 7 year sample, he's basically out for 2 straight years.
  21. Are Canadian Piña Coladas good?
  22. I'm pretty sure a lot of those articles are submitted via crayon.
  23. Angels are open to trading Trout. Trout 80M Story Duran Romero
  24. I have never read a Tomase article and come away with thinking that it was a "thought provoking piece."
  25. His last season in BOS was 2011. 2012: out 2 months with right ankle sprain, 15 DL right thumb sprain 2014: fractured right finger 15 DL 2015: right thumb ligament tear 60 DL 2016: shin contusion 15 DL, bunion 60 DL 2019: left knee capsule sprain 60 DL (plays 9 games all year) 2020: left knee discomfort 60 DL (misses season)
