  1. I'm not quite in the old fart club yet and I can't say I remember what you're talking about. I think bellhorn and I can be a little more reasonable and move on with our lives than whatever it is that you two are doing. bellhorn and I disagree on some things and agree on others. bellhorn has a good feel feel for my posting style so I don't think we get into weird spats the way some other posters do. If we have, I've been completely oblivious to it.
  2. There's nothing about me that is pompous.
  3. I didn't say that. Young players sometimes take a little longer to develop their fielding. See: Duran, Jarren 2023.
  4. Sad news. It has been reported that Wake has cancer. When he was on, he was fun to watch. 14 wins for the Pirates. 186 wins for the Sox. Let's get another one!
  5. During the 2004 Duck Boat parade, I was most excited when I saw Tito. I don't know why, but I cheered the loudest for him. Probably because of Grady Little?
  6. If you are interested in following what happens in the Arizona Fall League, Christopher Troye is intentionally posting a bunch of updates on Twitter and IG for posterity. https://twitter.com/christophtroye
  7. IDK, I'm glad Mayer slipped to the Sox. I'm glad Teel slipped to the Sox. Maybe a pick or two helps once in a while. Also, the season is over and there isn't much else to talk about prospect wise.
  8. Poor decisions can get fixed with good coaching.
  9. Since his GG season: -3 DRS in 22 -4 DRS in 23
  10. I think Masa should be better next season. He played in the WBC and the first season was always going to be a big adjustment for a guy coming over from Japan. Matsui 2003: 788 OPS Matsui 2004: 912 OPS Suzuki 2022: 770 OPS Suzuki 2023: 842 OPS Yoshida 2023: 781 OPS Yoshida 2024: ???
  11. Valdez is ok, but I'm not sure his bat is worthwhile enough for the squad. He's a bubble 40 man guy to me.
  12. 1. Masa 2. Devers 3. Casas That would be the order. I think Casas still has time to fix his glove and was better in the 2nd half.
  13. Especially when both heads on the robots were knocked off long ago, but the robots keep swinging...
  14. Sorry, we're cursed to witness these two old farts yell at each other every day. Feel free to add them to your ignore list.
  15. A black mark on this ownership group for sure.
  16. I would at least say that Abreu shows that he at least looks like an MLB player. I think we assumed that Rafaela would be with BOS, but Abreu was more on the outside looking in. There weren't too many of us projecting him to be on the BOS roster in 2024. SoxProspects had him outside the top 20.
  17. It's no biggie to replace the 5th starter.
  18. Crawford seems most likely to stick in the rotation at least over the short term.
  19. Yale?
  20. Prior to 2018, he said the Sox were going to miss the playoffs. 2016 and 2017 were fluke AL East titles. The team was due for regression. David Price was coming off the "magically healing arm" injury nonsense from 2017 and was not a sure bet for the rotation. Porcello was going to go back to being a 5 ERA guy.
  21. That bullpen had Ottavino and Whitlock. Saying they had no closer was a manager's choice IMO.
  22. If the Mets win a lottery selection, their pick will not be moved back. Only picks after the top 6 can be moved back.
  23. When did we drop in the draft because of tax implications? edit: Cam Cannon draft
  24. The views of overly obsessed posters don't reflect the majority of fans. If Old Red and moon are agreeing, I'm definitely feeling good about my position that the Story signing had nothing to do with appeasing fans.
  25. No.
