Red Sox should have DFA'd Ortiz when he OPS'd 524 in April 2010. -
The last column is expected batting average on the balls put in play. He was pretty unlucky last night.

I would assume the 900 OPS would have included lots of LHP action. I think he's going to learn to hit LHP while in MLB. He won't be the first.

I don't know who told you that. He was never a good fit there even if you give him last year's offensive numbers. Too many k's and whiffs to be good at that spot.

Per Julian Mack: There were some in the org who believed Story was past his prime and no longer an everyday impact player. FO was not convinced by '25. Big questions about him being put in the two hole early on this season.

I can almost guarantee you that Henry was at the point where he wanted Cora gone. I don't think Brez brought this up out of nowhere. The Sox are spending a lot more this year and the product has been bad. Henry needs someone to blame. If the Sox were under the CBT, Cora would still be here.

The #1 overall draft pick Henry Davis made it to MLB in '23, but he's been pretty rough. I think in terms of being rushed, I don't necessarily agree for Marcelo. If you look at the rest of the High School guys from his 1st round, he's not at the top of the pack or really being left behind. Seems like his development was in line with expectations. He wasn't Jackson Merrill.

101 wRC+ and now his defense is awful. The last time he had a plus bat was 6 years ago. It's over.

He played 3 positions the last part of '23 after being drafted. He wasn't even given time to see how bad he was before being moved around. He played 4 positions in '24. He played 5 in '25. How would they know where he's good at if he's struggling defensively?

Yeah, that first paragraph is really frightening. Even just spending the average amount on scouting should be nothing to Boston. They've gone so far in the other direction that it will be hard to turn back the other way if this doesn't work out.
