Your original "quote" of "at least now we have 26 guys pulling in the same direction" is definitely not the same thing. Duran's quote is just "he was one of 26 guys." In fact, it doesn't even say Devers wasn't pulling in the same direction as the other players like you allude to. Just a real bad misreading on your part TBH.
BoSox relievers in the 75th percentile or better in 2025 for fastball velo (approx 96 mph):
Chapman - extended
Hicks - traded
Tolle - starter role only?
Slaten - still here
Guerrero - traded
Kelly - still here for now
Whitlock - still here
Seems like the backend the bullpen can still sling it a little bit.
Tayron Guerrero in WOO will touch triple digits, but I don't think we'll be seeing him in BOS.
Oh, ok.
They spent a lot of draft capital on pitchers, they just didn't work out (1st rounders since 08: Price, Ranaudo, Owens, Johnson, Light, Ball, Kopech, Groome, Houck, Witherspoon). The hit rate was pretty bad for top of the draft guys.
Pass and pass. Not a lot of untouchables for me, but I wouldn't move Witherspoon, Tolle, Early and hesitate on Phillips/Eyanson until I see what they have. Gray will be gone next year. Oviedo is already in his arb seasons. I don't believe in Bello going forward. I think the Sox need some high ceiling starters and they need to be identified internally if possible.
