  1. Raffy's defense was good enough in '19 and '22. It's not out of the realm of possibility that he can get back there. He just needs better guidance IMO.
  2. Crag has brought in a bunch of depth at C this offseason. Not really MLB level depth, but at least he's focused on those transactions. It'll be interesting to see how he evaluates Wong this season and if that affects Teel's timeline at all.
  3. For Jansen? Just insert more SP prospects since the Sox haven't drafted any in the past two decades and it's the only reason the rotation is in this mess.
  4. Two years isn't a big deal if the Sox are going to extend the player. They did it with Pedro. They did it with Beckett.
  5. It's too late... The engine is on fire... It hit the Red Sox ownership thread... We'll see if JBay can put it out. If this thread is locked by mods, it's because JBay cares more about Henry's checkbook than open discourse on TalkSox.
  6. If only! I keep exploring my body but haven't found it yet. "Not tonight honey, I'm going to drink a Pappy and Coke Zero, play Skyrim and then f*** my new vagina."
  7. And yet here posse is still here. What gives?!?!?
  8. The difference is there's a new IF coordinator, Story is a very good SS, Kiké won't be at SS, Rafaela/Abreu/O'Neilll are solid OFers that weren't on last year's opening day squad. Guys around the Braves (Ron Washington, Chipper Jones) have said that Grissom was solid at 2b and should be good there given time. It doesn't fix 3B. Maybe 1B is a little better with coaching? The catching is what it is. I think there is hope that the defense is better than what it was the first half of last season.
  9. HOU is in a win now mode and I'm not sure they'd want to give up Abreu who should factor heavily in their bullpen even with the Hader addition. Is Javier still a part of their rotation plans going forward? What's the status with his elbow? My guess is the return would be a potpourri of prospects and a starting pitcher they can move on from.
  10. Unless he's going with that 5D chess.
  11. @brianmctaggart Dana Brown on maybe adding a LH bat: "If we could somehow get a left-handed bat, preferably an outfielder with some speed, that type of package we'll pounce on it. Make no mistake, our club is really good." Crag, send Duran to HOU!
  12. We've done worse.
  13. Considering all the women that get molested on the subway in Japan, Bauer was probably seen as a model citizen. As an FYI, he was on the same team as Imanaga and had worse stats.
  14. If he truly wanted public opinion on his side, he would have taken the civil trial to Judge Wapner's Animal Court or at least the new Justice for the People with Judge Milian.
  15. Also, he's a low velo guy and gives up too much hard contact. He's a little overrated. Not a top of the rotation guy IMO. Fine for a #2. Great for a #3. Probably would be a headache for the coach, especially if they are a lame duck like Cora. He did a great job at marketing himself prior to the current issue.
  16. Fair enough on point 1. I don't see the Sox touching Bauer this year or ever.
  17. I wasn't comparing the two per se. I was just stating how you can say that OJ was found innocent. It's a well known case. He was arrested. Found not guilty in a jury trial. He had a civil trial afterwards. I was just trying to point out the legal definitions and add clarity.
  18. OJ Simpson was found to be innocent in a court of law. Was found "liable" in a civil trial and had to pay damages. He is still considered innocent. Bauer was not found innocent or guilty in a court of law as the DA never pressed charges. At no point was he found "innocent." The case was not brought forward by the DA as it was just determined there wasn't enough evidence to find him guilty. Bauer and the accuser settled their civil cases against each other.
  19. He's had a weird career and early on, many of his innings and starts were in MiLB. He was also pushed between starting and relieving for a while. It's not entirely like he figured out how to be healthy at an old age, but he seems to have had a better stretch of good luck recently.
  20. Also, the Red Sox PR mess is the definition of too many cooks in the kitchen.
  21. Hard to get the message straight when the guy with the checkbook and the ultimate say isn't the one doing the talking.
  22. Moore was one of the next big things down in Tampa that never worked out. He had TJS and regressed afterwards. I think he also wasn't as good as they thought he would be before TJS.
  23. Thankfully, Aroldis (sp?) Chapman just signed elsewhere. If they sign German, they'll have a different problem to worry about. It was all fine and well when Buttermaker was able to openly drink on the bench though, right?!??
  24. You are quick to defend Bauer in all these posts that keep coming up, so I have to doubt how much you do and don't care about what he does. If you didn't care, there'd be a Bauer post or two that would pass by with out you dogpiling on. For a long time, I didn't post about Bauer. If I really had some sort of "hatred" for him as you suggest, it probably would have been hard for me to not post about it since I'm on here almost every weekday from 8-4 with nothing seemingly better to do. If you make millions of dollars and piss it all away in the manner that Bauer has, you are an idiot in my book.
  25. Less than the year before and the year after it.
