It's a done deal. He's on a private plane on his way to Toronto. He wanted it to be some big secret, but how can it be when the contract is going to be 450M+?!?
Defensive metrics are not infallible. OAA and DRS can definitely vary for certain players. I've seen some players have bad OAA/DRS and good UZR/150's. I think you have to look at the whole picture. It probably means he's just an average 2B, which is a HUGE upgrade from the garbage men the Sox put out there last season.
That's good for the Red Sox. It forces Henry to actually do something. If the Yanks didn't get Soto and Ohtani went to the Dodgers, there'd be less of an immediate need for the Sox to make a splash.
His DRS numbers the past two years have not been great. He had one very good DRS season in 2014 +14, but is only +8 for his career. OAA treats him a little more favorably for whatever reason.

The Red Sox are “very heavily involved” in the Yoshinobu Yamamoto sweepstakes, @jonmorosi said on @MLBNetwork today.
If he winds up elsewhere and the contract is under 300M, it'll be pitchfork time....
Toronto.
Rumor is that there is a private jet flying from Anaheim to Toronto and Kikuchi has rented out an upscale sushi restaurant near the stadium this evening.
They would wait until Gelof's ARB years are over before dealing him. They will start potentially playing in the Vegas AAA stadium in '25 so it would make sense for them to have a high profile player to showcase.
