  1. The last time there was a group of posters to get banned (2012?), those posters definitely deserved it. For the most part, when people have been banned here, they've gone above and beyond any tit for tat that either moon or Old Red subject us to.
  2. I was going to post: "Who said you were a bad fan" then figured out who you were referring to.
  3. You said the foundation was 12 players and there was another supporting 8 players. Brasier, Johnson, Hembree, Brewer and Weber were good enough to be somewhere on the roster considering what they ended up with anyway. That left 1 more player to fill out the 26 man squad: Peraza? Pillar? How hard is that? All the other guys are the typical run of the mill AAA/AAAA depth options that we have year in and year out. We are always churning through them and usually overstating their value!!! Last offseason people were excited about Ryan Sherriff and Oddanier Mosqueda FFS...
  4. They could have done both, especially at that time.
  5. I'm not saying he's average today. I'm not saying he was a #2 prior to 2023. He was average prior to 2023. Now, he's a #2 starter because he's throwing his splitter more and it's working out well for him.
  6. I count so many apologists on here.
  7. The David Price contract was fine.
  8. I counted 7 players on your list of desperation that should have been replaced. Most of these guys are so low leverage that bringing a new person in shouldn't have had any impact on the MLB team whatsoever.
  9. Sox haven't been linked to Snell except by the guy on Reddit.
  10. The hope is that Bailey and the rest of the pitching overhaul can pull a minor miracle.
  11. @SmittyOnMLB Red Sox sign Alex Rodriguez’s nephew, assign him to Worcester
  12. Nah, it's the whole "draft pick if he's good, stuck with him if he stinks" part that raises the eyebrows.
  13. I think they already screwed up their perception pretty badly. People would now just say "they had to do it."
  14. Roki will just hand select whatever team he wants to go to since he's going to be limited to Int'l bonus pool restrictions.
  15. It's like my two kids. Every morning, they fight before school. No matter what we do as parents and how we coach the children, they are just magnets to each other. The rest of the day, they get along fine. First thing in the morning, they are both grumpy and just miserable and need to leave each other alone.
  16. Or a trade at the deadline? Sox may be over the CBT at the deadline and it would be a waste to go the QO route as you'd only get a 4th rounder on a QO offer.
  17. Could trade him at the deadline or offer him a QO? A team like the Sox should have at least gotten him on a 2 year deal unless they had something bigger planned for next year.
  18. When you look at his statcast page, he's never been above 60th percentile for xERA, xBA, xSLG, xISO, K%. He's a fine pitcher who gives you a lot of innings without walking batters. If the Sox were going to put a really good IF defense out there, it'd make sense for them to lock him up. He's a better version of Derek Lowe IMO. Lowe was a pretty good pitcher until his late 30's. If Montgomery avoids injury, he could be decent. He's become a better pitcher as he's thrown his sinker more (up to 42% last year, was in the 20's in 20-21 and 30's in 22).
  19. Can't happen until Lebron retires, I believe. As an investor in FSG, he can't be an active owner of an NBA team as a player.
  20. So above average that the Yankees didn't want him on their post season roster.
  21. He needs to take a step back and let Crag do his thing. Also, get Sam and Tom away from the mic. Let Crag clear out whatever EVP he feels is superfluous.
  22. Two years of Crag slander on here!
  23. He's a #2 now, sure. Does that earn him the deal he's looking for? IDK. I can see why some teams shy away from giving him more than Nola since he doesn't have that track record.
