  1. When men were men right?
  2. Sox are treading water until the prospects show up. That was obvious when that's all that was showcased at Winter Weekend. We're in a holding pattern with this franchise. I'll be watching the POR team more than the BOS team in the early part of the season if that's truly what matters long term.
  3. I don't need him to run the Sox, I need him to hear what Crag needs and either let Crag go for it or jam it up Henry's flagpole until he says yes.
  4. TalkSoxAnon.
  5. This year's Sox don't have to worry about putting them in playoff situations, so we're good.
  6. Nathan Eovaldi 2018: HOU Game 3/5 - 111 pitches (3 days) LAD Games 1/2/3 - 126 pitches (4 days) Eovaldi is not the healthiest pitcher in the world and he was able to do the above in one postseason.
  7. He was 31. His arm was nearing the expiration date. Derek Lowe threw 117 pitches over 3 days the prior postseason vs OAK.
  8. Make sure to drive around with a plate from the Northeast and ask "where's the good pizza?" The locals will love it. It's rained all winter down here. Don't expect much sun.
  9. Off season regiment of driving to and from Burger King.
  10. He threw 100 pitches over 3 days! No wonder they almost lost Game 1 of the World Series 4 days later! He had a 1.875 WHIP in his is blown win (kill the win). Then Tito (petty tyrant, basically Pol Pot) forced him to pitch the next 3 games, 2 of which weren't save situations!!!
  11. He pitched 5 innings in a 3 day stretch! Do you know what that does to the person's molecular structure? It basically turns their shoulder and elbow into a black hole made out of paper maché.
  12. Yeah, but my concern is that the initial press releases and discussion points from FSG all mentioned him working with all the FSG holdings. I just want him working with the Sox. I don't want Theo wasting time on the Penguins.
  13. At least more fans are waking up about it.
  14. Story's offense will be better than 2023 Yu Chang and Kiké. I'm really going out on a limb there.
  15. This team was pretty bad last year. Defensively, they should be better than last year. They won't even pick in the top 10 this year. They would really have to drop off substantially to be one of the dregs of MLB. They are just a mediocre ballclub. Purgatory.
  16. For all his faults, I'm not sure egotistical is at the top of the list. I think he's spread too thin in too many ventures (absenteeism). He's greedy for sure and has surrounded himself with yes men.
  17. The bullpen was really good. The lineup was good until the late season swoon. The starting rotation was bad. The defense was atrocious. If the first two stay the same, some work on the margins of the last two could get them above .500. It's not a playoff team though.
  18. It's just not a reasonable expectation that every pitcher has an optimal season. Some will be better, some will be worse (injury or otherwise). Without adding higher quality arms, the team most likely won't be in a better spot than last year. The best hope is for health and that they aren't relying on bullpen games or openers from Ort/Jacques/et al.
  19. For me, it's just that the farm is very barren of pitching talent (ranked 29th). They had opportunities to trade expiring contracts for young pitching and we didn't do it. I'm told that they will trade for a controllable starter, but they haven't done that yet. Revamping a pitching pipeline takes time and right now, I'm not sure they even have the right horses in the stable.
  20. Yes, and that’s why I’d be up for meeting anyone from here.
  21. No difference.
  22. You wrote “imagine what if… his cancer returned.” I didn’t read anything into it.
  23. “What if there was an alternate reality where Lester got cancer again” - moon
  24. Lame. I’d meet up with Old Red if he was nearby. What’s the big deal?
  25. Ownership is spread so thin, they need someone who cares about the product on the field again.
