  1. He was decisive when he wanted to make that trade in Rule 5. Maybe he can be both patient and strike like a cobra when he needs to?
  2. Wrong! I simulated a pitcher where he was able to hit a target perfectly as long as it was outside the strike zone every time. Once the glove was in the zone, the pitches became erratic. What follows is a post where moon tries to convince me that I can never admit to being wrong.
  3. Considering all the fake news from the lame stream media that has been reported so far. We have no idea what the FO has been up to. There was no smoke to the trade of Verdugo to the Yanks. The O'Neill trade came out of nowhere. Seems like the "leaks" we have been given were just conjecture. Maybe they are busy? Maybe they are doing nothing? We just don't know. Until Crag assembles his first squad, we don't really know his capabilities.
  4. Last place in the division in the past two seasons, but not in the bottom third of the MLB (12th and 14th picks). They've been frustratingly below average teams. The 2020 team (4th pick) was a dumpster fire. That was the team that felt like a last place team. I'm glad we don't see many of those.
  5. Sure. Fine.
  6. "Capable" is a polite way of talking about his horrible OFing.
  7. I have different levels of faith on each prospect. Yorke comes with some injury concerns and consistency going back to High School. Mayer missed most of last season due injury so we need to see him be competitive at AA. Anthony and Teel look like they'll continue their march towards the bigs. It's hard to say how well they'll perform when they get there, but I don't see them being impeded before then. Bleis and Cespedes are just young and far away so it's hard to judge. The pitching is filled with lots of lower ceiling guys (mid rotation at best IMO).
  8. Good advice. They are getting at least one subscription out of me anyway (wife's grandfather). May as well cancel the second one.
  9. If Yorke is ready, you could always spin them off in another deal I guess!
  10. They need to let me know so that can I punt my MLB Network subscription.
  11. "Expected." With Yorke in AAA, I'm not sure how big they'll go at 2B.
  12. You remind me of someone who doesn't understand a joke.
  13. They better hope the prospects don't fall flat.
  14. CBT doesn't seem to matter to some organizations. It's a big deal to the Sox for some reason.
  15. We'll see what the FO does with this. If they realize they are out, they need to be on the phone with option 2. If they fumble the bag, it's over. It'll take a good playoff run before they'll get me to buy into the nonsense again no matter what they do.
  16. Expectations are Casas and Masa will be better in year 2. Story will make up for the horrible SS situation in 1st half. Abreu's fWAR prorates to 3.5 over a full season . I think the offense is in a holding pattern until the prospects start showing up later this year and in '25.
  17. It's one thing to have to work on command or control, but that he still is working on both means he's most likely a reliever IMO.
  18. No, they don't need to sign Cesar Puello.
  19. Tim Robbins is great and Susan Sarandon is always fantastic, but Costner is just such a big suck that he negates the other two. Sad!
  20. That's how soon they are going to get this all done.
  21. Masa was hitting pretty well until the schedule and playing LF beat him up. The hitters seem to need a year to adjust but not the pitchers.
  22. Why? Japanese pitchers have come over and performed really well recently. Why would the best version of them come over and do worse?
  23. Anyway, the answer is Burnes, Yamamoto and Giolito as the #5. Burnes Yamamoto Sale Bello Giolito 5 Aces 2023... Print the damn shirts now.
  24. The Coordinator roles aren't an issue IMO. The problem is the 18 SVP and EVP's. That doesn't even count Sammy Wormtongue Kennedy.
  25. I go back and forth on whether the Sox really have a chance.
